If anyone has a job market paper they would like me to repost, tag me and I will do my best to do so! Would love to follow what people are working on more closely.

I'd love to see a replication of this study in a low/middle-income country, in a setting which uses Teaching at the Right Level or similar approach. Like tutoring, these efforts usually take place outside regular class time. Does regular instruction substitute or complement remedial interventions?
This is such a bizarre talking point; I've thankfully never had to use most of the types of insurance that I have for me and my family

This is a good excuse to share my WSJ letter to the editor explaining that "not filing a claim doesn’t mean you didn’t need insurance" www.wsj.com/opinion/the-...

Yeah I make them leave phones on their desk and remove smartwatches but I still wonder what’s going on. Considering forcing them to go potty before we start like I do for my kids on a roadtrip.

Can anyone point me to documented examples of country governments doing content-knowledge assessments with teachers?

I've seen analysis from regional tests (eg nicspaull.com/wp-content/u...) & from the World Bank's service delivery indicators (eg tessabold.com/uploads/7/0/...). Others?

First world problem, but it’s no fun texting another parent for a playdate with your kid and getting no response. Are you rejecting me, my kid, or are you just someone who doesn’t reply? 🤷🏻

For the record, I had no followers before it was cool

Short 🧵 on boring but imp topic: how to format tables! First, + most imp point: table in an econ paper should be comprehensible w/o any cross-reference to text. Variables should be clearly defined (not "lnconsexp"; write "Consumption)"; + specification described in notes

Yes. Even without selection on significant effects, you’d also see the same pattern if effects diminish with program scale.
