Do they realize how sad and pathetic -- and racist -- they sound?
The salt must flow.

Right. This is such a stupid framing. Idiot NYT headline writer here.

This is exactly right - no one asked for a hallucinating copyright-infringement machine. But alas...
No one has ever tried to sell me drugs as hard as people try to sell me on AI.

Google‘s list for 2025. Did I miss any for 2026?

Last year there were multiple women-empowerment commercials during the Super Bowl. Were there any this year? Was that just a one year thing on Madison Ave?

Excellent thread with everything you want to know about the Bad Bunny performance last night - joy and political resistance!
Disturbingly detailed analysis of my first rewatch incoming
There is a major political organization allied with the president that got so mad a Latino artist was tapped to play at the Super Bowl they made a whole alternative show. We should all take a moment to reflect on that. It is so blatantly racist.

These commercials make me want to use AI even less. Which I didn’t know was possible.

I’m going to switch to the watching paint dry channel.
There's a ChatGPT ad about a family farm where the owner says her family has been doing this for a hundred years and she doesn't want to be the one to screw it up and that's why she's getting advice from ChatGPT and, my God, can you people hear yourselves?

“ferments“ - that’s how this administration connects with everyday Americans!
RFK Jr on what he'll eat during the Super Bowl: "I am on a carnivore diet so I just eat meat and ferments, and I'm very happy with that. So I'm probably going to have yogurt."

I get the crash doesn’t seem related to it (though did she hit the gate because she didn’t have the control she normally would have with a weak knee?). But I’m sure the injury she’s going to have now is made worse by the blown ACL.

I mean, maybe skiing on a busted ACL isn’t the best idea? So sad for Vonn.…

Always and forever.
Vice President JD Vance gets roundly booed at the opening ceremony of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics. "Those are a lot of boos for him, whistling jeering," says the presenter. US athletes receive a warm welcome from fans, though.
VA Gov. Spanberger (moderate, was in CIA) and NYC Mayor Mamdani (left, is in DSA) both taking steps to block local law enforcement from helping ICE as it violently violates people's rights is a good example of how the relevant divide in the Dem coalition isn't center-left, it's fight-don't fight.

OK, credit where it’s due, this is fairly good, if too credulous of the excuses.

It's almost as if -- and I know this may be hard to take -- many people in public life don't really believe much of what they're saying!
Pour one out for every professional political pundit, writer, consultant whatever that has spent the last decade trying to pretend that the Trump phenomenon was about trade or opiates and not a big chunk of white america losing its mind over having a black president bsky.app/profile/kyle...

Anyway, yeah. The overwhelming impression one gets from so many of these emails is that a lot of them are guys who have never had a real, serious friendship with a woman in their lives.

Which sucks for them, but also sucks for every woman who has to deal with them, ever.

Exactly this!

This is what's so infuriating about the billionaires. Isn't part of the point of having that much money and power is that you have "fuck you money"? Meaning, if you don't want to do something, you say "fuck you" and don't do it. To anyone and everyone.

So why are they such capitulatory wimps now?
This and also ... he could afford to enrage Trump, have Trump weaponize the government against all of his businesses, etc. -- and he'd still have so much more money than he could ever spend in 10 lifetimes.
To put it another way: Jeff Bezos could easily ensure there are no staff cuts at The Washington Post for the next decade, and he'd still have more than $249B in net worth left over.

Jeff Bezos' wedding last summer cost somewhere around $50M. That, alone, could have saved all 300 positions cut today at The Washington Post for a year.

Of course, he wouldn't have to choose. He could do both because he's worth $250B, which is nearly the GDP of New Zealand.

You also don't have to get off your ass and do any work if the other side is just going to win no matter what.

All you need to do is sit back and say "told you so" when things go wrong. You don't need to organize, take to the streets, run for office, bring lawsuits, think creatively, etc.
