A reminder that according to Fetterman's own former staffers, Fetterman had a meeting with J-Street president Jeremy Ben Ami in which he told Ben Ami that he believes Arabs are like a "carton of sour milk" and that we should get back to killing.

"Kill them all" Fetterman is reported as having said.

“You can’t reform a carton of sour milk,” Fetterman told Ben-Ami, according to notes from the meeting, referring to the Palestinians. Fetterman said he did not believe in a two-state solution and claimed he had never met an Arab person who would condemn Hamas. “Correction,” the notes from the meeting stated. “Only a single Arab he has met with that staff was present for wouldn’t outright condemn Hamas.”

Fetterman went on to make statements that shocked people. In opposing a cease-fire, he said, “Let’s get back to killing.” A person who heard the conversation told me, “He said, ‘Kill them all.’” In a statement, Fetterman denied the account, adding, “Any reference to killing was solely about Hamas, and I do support the destruction of that organization, down to its last member.”

Just now: The plaintiffs who were arguing that Utah GOP's congressional map is illegal won in court.

The judge orders one of the two maps submitted by the plaintiffs ('map 1') be used.

The ruling, if it stands, guarantees that Democrats will pick up a congressional seat in Utah next year.

BREAKING: The First Circuit denies DOJ’s stay request in the SNAP case, refusing to stay the Nov. 6 enforcement order.

Justice Jackson’s 48-hour clock started just before midnight Sunday, meaning the administrative stay she issued Friday ends at the end of the day Tuesday.

But the district court did not order the government to
use the Section 32 fund until November 6. It did so after it
concluded that the government had failed to comply with its
October 31 TRO. As a remedy for that noncompliance, the court
ordered the government to make the full payment of November SNAP
benefits by November 7. Thus, even if we were to stay the second
TRO, the government could not obtain the relief that it seeks unless it also meets its burden under the stay factors as to the
enforcement order.
For the reasons that follow,
we conclude that the
government
has
failed
to meet the stay factors as to the
enforcement order, and we deny a stay of that order.

In any event, the district court has now found that the
government failed to comply with that October 31 TRO, from which
no stay was sought and no appeal was taken that would have
prevented the order from taking effect during the period of alleged
noncompliance. Thus, for present purposes, the question that the
government's motion to stay the enforcement order presents is
this: Has the government made a strong showing that it is likely
to succeed in establishing either (a) that the district court erred
in finding noncompliance with the October 31 TRO or (b) that,
insofar as it did not err in that regard, it could not order full
funding in consequence of that noncompliance?
As we have explained, the answer is no. In the single
paragraph it devotes in its stay motion to addressing the
enforcement order, the government does not make a strong showing
of likely success in either respect. And in the only other passage
of the stay motion that could be read to address the finding of
noncompliance, the government fails to grapple with the actual
basis for that finding.

I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.

Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again.

An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next.

Understand what it is to pray in Chicago. On September 19th, Reverend David Black, lead pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Chicago, was praying outside the ICE detention center in Broadview when a DHS agent shot him in the head with pepper balls. Pepper balls are never supposed to be fired at the head because they can seriously injure, or even kill. “We could hear them laughing as they were shooting us from the roof,” Black recalled. He is not the only member of the clergy ICE has assaulted. Methodist pastor Hannah Kardon was violently arrested on October 17th, and Baptist pastor Michael Woolf was shot with pepper balls on November 1st.
