I could understand Dems voting to end the shutdown if they were negotiating with good-faith actors, but unfortunately they’re negotiating with Republicans.

It only took a week for Dems to get tired of winning.

They grow up so fast.

I am allowing myself the tiniest sliver of hope that, in the end, the ghouls might lose.

Maybe Don’t Talk to the New York Times About Zohran Mamdani
It’s remarkable, the people you’ll hear from. Teach for even a little while at an expensive institution—the term they tend to prefer is “elite”—and odds are that eventually someone who was a studen…

Same-day WAPO editorial drop:

“BOOOO Generalissimo Mamdani, YAYYY Captain of Industry Elon!”

So much for far-left media capture, I guess. What a charade.

This has not gotten much attention, but it should.

Virginia under Youngkin returned to an insanely harsh system where people convicted of any felony lose their voting rights FOR LIFE.

Dems' win this week mean they'll get to advance a constitutional amendment to end lifetime disenfranchisement.

Everything is "socialism" until Americans realize they love it.

Curious to see how trying *as hard as he possibly can* to take SNAP benefits away from hungry rural white voters works out politically for Trump. Anybody got priors on this?

Unfortunately, only German compound nouns are up to the task, and so we'll have to settle for Selbstverblendungsschurkengeschichtenerzähler.

I really believe that equating critique of Israel with antisemitism is itself antisemitic. Doing so asserts a unit-relation between Judaism and the genocidal actions of a government. What's that if not anti-Jewish?

Bouie is right that many Trump voters aren't hardcore MAGA and instead display familiar voting patterns (e.g., thermostatic politics, voting their shifting personal and local concerns).

At the same time, the growing urban-rural and education divides in partisanship look pretty realignment-y to me.

About to tuck in to some Zohran cake at the home of his speech writer’s very (very!) proud parents. 🎉

Zohran crushed it!

Turns out holding SNAP benefits hostage to hurt the other party is bad politics.
