Well, my "worst nightmare" is wasting time trying to identify the use of LLMs to replace critical thinking skills that students should be developing. So, cry me a river.
They Were Every Student’s Worst Nightmare. Now Blue Books Are Back.
Cheating with ChatGPT has become a huge problem for colleges. The solution is painfully old-school.

In addition to academics' inability to be selctive about jobs (supply much higher than demand), now they have to consider whether taking a job in a red state means sacrificing academic integrity or being unemployed.
If you’re wondering why your friends in academia are a little on edge right now, it’s because an eighteen-year-old who hasn’t done the reading, doesn’t look at the assignment, and has does no critical thinking skills more complex than “because I think it’s in the Bible” can literally end your career

The University of Oklahoma has removed an instructor who was accused by a student of religious discrimination over a failing grade on a psychology paper in which she cited the Bible and argued that promoting a “belief in multiple genders” was “demonic.” https://cnn.it/4b6g3rd

Word salad: a string of empty, incoherent, unintelligible, or nonsensical words or comments.

I believe the Trump DOJ. They have been nothing but honest and transparent with everything they have done since taking office.
The DOJ wants the public to know that while there may be some horrifying things pertaining to Donald Trump in the latest Epstein files release, none of it is true

Insightful interview w/ Kristin Cabot, who was "caught" on the jumbotron at the Coldplay concert.
TLDR: being doxxed, threatened, made fun of, and ghosted by friends for something many are guilty of is "woman shaming" and such symptom of our society.

Naming Jeff Landry--the man best known for interferring in LSU's football head coaching debacle--as "special envoy" to Greenland is not a serious attempt to take control of the island. Do better, media.

Turns out "Democracy Dies in Darkness" was not a call to journalistic counter-action but a government motto to obey.
“When it fails to air without a credible explanation, the public will correctly identify this as corporate censorship. We are trading 50 years of ‘gold standard’ reputation for a single week of political quiet.”

A portiat of a guy who stereotyped poor black women as "welfare queens."

What a perfect example of the premise in Heather McGhee's "The Sum of Us." ACA subsidies disproportioately benefit rural whites. However, they would rather elect reps that will screw them fiancially but will protect their racial status.
BREAKING: Mike Johnson just said he won't call a vote this year to extend enhanced subsidies under the Affordable Care Act — effectively guaranteeing they will expire at the end of this month.

Regular reminder: beginning of the semester vs. end of the semester.

Grading and googling hallucinated citations, as one does nowadays, and now that LLMs have been around for a while, I've discovered new horrors: hallucinated journals are now appearing in Google Scholar with dozens of citations bc so many people are citing these fake things

Only when they put the well-being of a society over the preferences of well-funded special interests.
Let me understand you correctly, governments can care that people are being murdered?

A crucial throwback from earlier this year but even more applicable.

Especially this:
"When citizens must think twice about criticizing or opposing the government because they could credibly face government retribution, they no longer live in a full democracy."

Cafeteria Catholicism is the most popular form of Catholicism. Some, like Karoline Leavitt, only go for the small side salad at the beginning of the line.
I would really like to see the media stop calling people “devout Catholics” just because they themselves say they are.
