If you ignore it, climate change will just go away.
Since the beginning of 2025, Democrats have pulled back from talking about climate change, according to data analyzed by The Post.

At the same time, nations and companies have been whittling down their goals — or going silent on the issue entirely.
Climate change is out. Energy affordability is in.
A Washington Post analysis of Democratic lawmakers’ appearances and social media posts show they are going quiet on climate.

If those are the new rules, then it's hard to see an end game where you, as the party who cares about Americans suffering, can really benefit from this fight. /2

It's hard to reconcile what the Democrats "yes" votes to open the government signifies relative to the alternative. These Dems correctly surmised the GOP isn't willing to play by traditional rules. No SNAP benefits, reduce air traffic, and inflict whatever pain necessary to induce capitulation. 1/

There needs to be a viable third party option to the Democrats. I know our system is set up to disincentivize such an option, but damn.

Hey kids the Trump Healthcare
Plan just dropped!

Riddle me this... The GOP-lead Senate is resisting Trump's call to elimate the fillibuster because it is a tool that forces compromise, but the GOP refuses to engage in any compromise 🤔

Everyone should have someone to look at in the way that Trump looks at Viktor Orbán.

Paying the ransom to hostage takers is not the way to avoid further hostage taking, unless that is not really your goal.

It's important to understand what a realignment actually is, and it is not a couple of election cycles. It's also important to understand that some groups, like Latinos, have become much more issue voters than party voters and thus more susceptible to thermostatic shifts. Parties need to adjust.
Dem gains in this week's elections erased the inroads Trump made with non-white, young, and low-income voters in 2024. In fact, the R-to-D shift from 24 to 25 is double Trump's gains from 20-24. Claims of a GOP political realignment have been highly exaggerated

The elimination of USAID was an unforgivable moral atrocity that should haunt Trump, Elon Musk and Marco Rubio for the rest of their days and beyond

Why don't they just call him the leader of Antifa? It would be a shortcut for all those labels.

Definitely an example of the nationalization of politics, but also an example of not being civically literate, and if the opportunity arises, taking a State and Local Poltics class!
All jokes aside, this is a great example of Daniel Hopkins' point that nationalization is driven, in part, by people being more engaged with national rather than local politics.

There were higher profile and broader races last night, but this development is huge-- in a state with one of the largest black populations where Republicans have done everything possible to deny equal representation.

This is an important reason many political scientists oppose term limits. It's based on reproducable research, unlike the "feels" of politicians and pundits who make the case for term limits as the panacea to our dysfunction via non-data driven op-eds.
Political inexperience in Congress has measurable effects on legislative outcomes. Our research finds that when districts elect political newcomers over career politicians, congressional dysfunction tends to increase.

Amateur hour in Congress: How political newcomers fuel gridlock and government shutdowns
The public’s frustration with ‘politics as usual’ has led more political newcomers to win office. But amateurs are more likely to view bipartisanship as a concession, not a tool for advancing policy.

Would it surprise anyone if Landry, who has one of the best trained tongues for licking Trump's boots, would seek his input on the next football coach. As James Carville said, "Who the f*ck coach id going to come here?"
