Imagine being this stupid
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Obv there are many, many opinions among fed employees but if any tv shows/podcasts/etc want to hear the prevailing takes that seem to be out there hmu
I heard from a bunch of federal employees last night and this morning. They aren't happy.
"I would rather be an actual pawn. At least pawn sacrifices are calculated and achieve something. All this for a fucking meaningless vote."

Nevermind the administration disappearing people off the streets or murdering Caribbean fishermen or shutting down agencies illegally or declaring war on trans people or openly accepting bribes, Dems picked a fight on health care and couldn't even find the spine for that," the NOAA employee said

Huh well it turns out I heard from a few federal workers about this and well
"We civil servants organized to help our colleagues face the hardship of the shutdown, we put up with the pain and our only request was to not be betrayed like this. Trade our pain, make it count."

Is it weird if a person with hundreds of thousands of followers on FB just posts the entire 900-word text of my newsletter there but also includes the link to it at the end. Like is that a normal thing or should I be mad.

Hearing from more people after this went out.
"We're all pissed. This was a lot of unnecessary stress on people and their families for nothing. And if I win the lottery tonight I absolutely will spend millions to hire people to follow these 8 Dems around for a year and make their lives miserable."

“We won the thing we were legally owed” take a victory lap Dems, absolutely killing it
One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law!
That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.

Pre-shutdown I heard from a bunch of federal employees who would lose income and maybe jobs and so on who basically all wanted Dems to fight (such as www.gravityisgone.com/shut-it-all-...). They also tended to expect them to cave. Anyway.

It is not a useful observation or anything but it is still pretty wild that COP30 is starting in Brazil and the richest country in the world, second-largest emitter, and largest cumulative emitter of greenhouse gases just... isn't there.

“People are blaming republicans for food prices and flight cancellations and health insurance costs and are furious about gilded ballrooms and Gatsby parties and the president is falling asleep on tv and is the most deeply unpopular president in history, time to cave” is a hell of an argument

Volunteers and others may have little or no access to required trainings right now, though individual states may be offering them. Fun.
