Refs in Knicks-Pelicans have forgotten how to call fouls in the fourth quarter, which is frankly delightful.

The end of King of Comedy only it’s the president hosting a canceled Kennedy Center show making jokes and almost impossibly racist tangents to a gallery of rictus grins of uncertain provenance, the show never starts because every performer bailed, he just keeps going, perfectly content

I wrote lots of things this year, first for Splinter and then my newsletter. Some were okay. I just wanted to highlight a few of the headlines I was sorta proud of:

I find the "most people expect cancer to be cured" fascinating, given that this poll was conducted just a few months after one of the most famous cautionary tales in science journalism was published

Lots of things to fix out there but a decent argument that a real fix (if such a thing existed) for what can reasonably be called “elite impunity” would cascade out fixes for like 90 percent of the rest of it

Since I posted this I also really liked The Exterminating Angel, Man On Wire, Brighton Rock, and, yes, I finally watched It’s A Wonderful Life for the first time. I get it; pretty great.

I know some of them were a bit worried about it but in the end the pardon stuff is maybe the clearest possible example of "the Framers didn't really see someone this corrupt coming"
New reporting says Don Jr. directly facilitated the pardon of a crypto whale who had promoted the Trump's family crypto. Jr. brought the pardon lawyer to the White House, and introduced him directly to his Dad. Pardon occurred right after. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/pardon-the...

The Lord of The Rings movies were rated PG-13. By current rules that means that each film could contain one use of the word "Fuck". Which line are you altering to insert the most useful swear word?
