Back then they knew a lot less about climate sensitivity and other specifics, but they did know warming was on its way. They were a bit off on how fast we would get there, though.

Urgewald's latest Global Oil & Gas Exit List, released today, found that 96% of all oil and gas companies are still "exploring or developing new resources." Companies have spent north of $60 billion/yr on exploration over the last 3 years. Anyway, happy COP30 next week.
