This isn't a flub. Rather, it shows the GOP has made the political calculus that there is no downside to attacking the federal government -- even when they are the ones in charge of it. Perhaps we should interrogate how we got to this point, why it's bad, and what, ultimately, we should do about it.

The thing to understand about this is that this catastrophe in the UK has redounded to the political benefit of the very same people and political movement that pushed for it! Extremely perverse.
I wonder if the United States can learn anything from the last time a major industrialized country decided to isolate itself from the rest of the world?

James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

There's a major Trump property located just a stone's throw away from it. Seems like he should know basic facts about something like that. Hell, I still remember my phone number from the house that I grew up in almost 40 years ago.

Just reboot James Bond as the sexy policy director at a small but plucky research and advocacy organization. Why is this so hard?

It’s insane to treat the filibuster as the most sacrosanct.

Article 1 power of the purse, oversight, and war? Nah.

Emoluments clauses? Bribery prohibition? Meh.

Criminal law? 14A? Doesn’t count.

But maybe the Senate changes a rule it has multiple times before? Gasp! Not that. Anything but that.

That's not true. I can think of at least one other biopic that starred the subject: Howard Stern's 'Private Parts.' It's not often those two share something in common...
