As corporations shell out big bucks for Super Bowl commercials, remember that many have said they were forced to raise prices due to inflation.

Also remember that profit margins in nearly every sector in the S&P 500 are running near or above 10-year highs.

Hello???

If you're preparing a Super Bowl spread this weekend, you might have noticed that grocery prices remain stubbornly high.

Remember when Trump promised to lower prices on Day One? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EXi6xyOXSk

Leaders of the so-called “pro-life, small government” party who relentlessly warn of tyranny are standing by as masked agents roam the country and brutalize its people. The hypocrisy isn’t surprising — but it’s staggering. Remember this.

The median ticket price for Sunday’s Super Bowl is $7,497.

I don’t even want to know what a beer costs.

But even if you want to go to a regular-season sporting event, tickets and concession prices will cost you a small fortune.

Here’s one thing we can do about it.

According to the New Yorker, Donald Trump and his family profited off the presidency by an estimated $4 billion in 2025 — mostly through shady crypto deals.

That amounts to $456,621 per hour.

But how are you doing?

Major GOP donors are getting rich off Trump's deportation campaign.

It's the purest distillation of MAGA: fusing bigotry with uncontrollable greed.

Yes, weep for what we have lost. But don’t just weep. Turn these losses into a new beginning — based on what’s good in America and what has gone wrong. Some thoughts for your Sunday... https://robertreich.substack.com/p/sunday-thought-cry-the-beloved-country

Elon Musk will sit for a deposition regarding DOGE’s gutting of USAID.

Multiple reports estimate that his dismantling of the foreign aid agency directly contributed to thousands of deaths around the world.

And that’s just one piece of damage DOGE left behind. Watch.

In Minnesota, ICE agents are illegally racially profiling residents, drawing weapons during arrests, claiming people’s citizenship documents are fake, and leaving people with long-lasting injuries.

There is no excuse for Democrats to continue funding these jackbooted thugs.
Leading American companies — including Palantir, Deloitte, and private prison giant GEO Group — raked in over $22B from ICE and CBP contracts last year.

Do not forget who is profiting from cruelty and human suffering.

Has ICE gone too far for most Americans?

Can Trump really "nationalize" state elections?

You may recall that in January of 2025, artist Ann Telnaes announced that she had quit The Washington Post after editors killed a cartoon that depicted owner Jeff Bezos, among others, genuflecting to Trump.

This cartoon feels even more relevant this week.

Trump promised he would lower your cost of living and usher in a new “Golden Age.”

Instead, he’s terrorizing communities with his immigration goons and trampling on the Constitution — while groceries are still just as expensive.

What other campaign promises has he ignored?

TrumpRx supposedly helps people pay less for prescription drugs.

In reality, it sends users to pharma giants’ websites, where they can pay out of pocket for certain medications.

One company that could benefit? BlinkRx, which has Donald Trump, Jr. on its board.

Funny how that works.

Trump's racism should be no surprise.

His company got caught committing racial housing discrimination.

He spread lies about the exonerated Central Park 5.

He entered politics with the racist birther lie.

There's a reason Trump was once endorsed by David Duke and the KKK's newspaper.

Facebook launched 22 years ago this week.

In 2025, Meta paid an effective federal tax rate of 3.5% — its lowest on record.

Meanwhile, Meta is pumping at least $65 million into super PACs to stifle regulation of AI and tech.

Thanks to Trump's Big Ugly Bill, Amazon saw its corporate income taxes shrink by more than HALF last year, even as its profits climbed.

But instead of investing the savings into their workforce, Amazon just announced thousands of layoffs and plans to spend $200B on AI.

The IRS is being gutted under Trump — which is great news for any rich tax cheats who want to dodge what they owe.

And instead of fixing this, Trump is of course suing the agency for $10 billion dollars — which will come out of the taxpayers pocket.

The grift never ends.
Taxpayer services are, unsurprisingly, in worse shape as lawmakers gut the IRS.
