To Trump, language is just a way to convey emotion. Words and numbers do not correspond to any fixed meaning or reality in the world.
Pointing out how he fails to use this word or that number correctly is both absolutely essential and utterly banal.
That's just not how he uses language.

I really hate how Trump refers to everything as a "hoax." The "Democrat Shutdown Hoax?" The government was shut down. It wasn't a "hoax." Demented shithead.
Now we have Trump blasting air traffic controllers, telling them they hate this country for not showing up without pay.
"I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK... You will have a negative mark, at least in my mind, against your record."

Good! But not at all surprising. The media run-up to this was unnecessarily inflammatory.
Breaking news: The Supreme Court has declined to consider a challenge to its landmark 2015 ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.
The challenge came from a county clerk who stopped issuing marriage licenses shortly after the ruling.

Supreme Court won’t hear challenge to landmark gay marriage ruling
The announcement indicates there is not an appetite among the high court’s conservative majority to revisit one of the court’s most significant decisions in recent years.

We need to understand that and act accordingly.

NEW: President Trump pardons Rudy Giuliani and others involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election, Trump's pardon attorney says.

The pardons may be largely symbolic as none of the people listed were convicted of federal crimes, which the presidential pardon covers.

Exactly right.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

So does the House have to come back in session finally? Meaning swearing in the new AZ rep and forcing the Epstein vote?

If only there were reporters interested in covering the limits of aging Presidents. Too bad no one has experience on that beat!
So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

The voice of reason on the right? 🤯
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "It's absolutely the worst political move to have the House in recess & for us to not be here working...there's a lot of disenfranchised 2024 voters & that was obvious in Tuesday's election. I'm from Georgia & we lost 2 statewide Public Commission seats & lost them heavily."

And how about the address where I lived when I was born?
If SCOTUS says trans people have to put their sex assigned at birth on their passport as a historical fact, then I get to put my birth weight on my driver's license.

NEW: On the shadow docket, the Supreme Court lets Trump resume misgendering trans Americans on their passports, claiming "the government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment." All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/26...
