Welp, guess it didn’t take until tomorrow morning.

I think that’s all my discipline is at this point.
Mike Lee, who fancies himself an intellectual, advances the premise that US agents can walk into the Venezuelan president’s rooms in Caracas at any time and exercise a plenary police power, and if anyone in that sovereign state might get in their way the military can just start blowing shit up.

Tomorrow morning’s wake-up news: Donald Trump is the new President of Venezuela.
FOX & FRIENDS: What do you think is next for the Venezuelan people now that you have removed Maduro so he can face American justice?

TRUMP: Well, we're making that decision now. We can't take a chance on letting somebody else run it, just take over where he left off. So we're making that decision

American law, especially constitutional law, is just irrelevant at this point.

And so many people would be better off recognizing that sooner rather than later. And then acting accordingly.

Yeah - Colorado has been dry. I know other places have been wet, but on the wrong side of 32. Ugh!

Heading to Steamboat tomorrow. Really picked the wrong year to go west instead of north!

When you're going on a family ski vacation out west: 🎉.

When the resort has 8% of terrain open because of a historically dry/warm start to the season: 🙁.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you.

Who's coming to save you?

We lawyers love to talk about process . . . it helps justify our fees.

Just like overpaying low-OPS and high-whiff rate right fielders justifies ticket prices at CBP. :)

Yeah, say I'm a cynic, but I've never though most people care one bit about process. It's just something people talk about on the path to getting the results they want.

Maybe 2025 laid bare the charade more than in the past, but it's always been a charade.
This one was fun to write: did 2025 put a final stake thru the heart of the process school? Or was it maybe the beginning of a revival? (Take our course this spring for more!) @yalelawschool-yls.bsky.social @samuelmoyn.bsky.social

A bunch of fucking idiots.

Who, yes, have been lied to by charlatans and who deserve better.

But also . . . they’re idiots.

I hate everything about his jurisprudence and his corruption. But I don’t think he’s dumb.

Or as he’s known in this house: the sex offending incel known as Justice Beer Pong.

One of the things I took away from the book The Brethren was how every other Justice on the Court knew that Chief Justice Burger was an idiot.

I have to believe the tell-all that will be written about this Court will show the other eight Justices feeling the same way about Justice Kavanaugh.
These declines are MASSIVE.

And the comparative silence in media coverage is absolutely DAMNING.

“Why are ppl always so afraid of crime?”

THIS is why. When crime goes up, media trips over itself to report it.

Falls to pre-war (!!) levels? Just CRICKETS.
I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

Alito is apparently letting Stephen Miller ghostlie his opinions
You do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to the Supreme Court

A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE! The Trump Court rules . . . against Trump!

Thanks ChatGPT -- by avoiding you I saved time and made my life easier! /end

I took everything I've learned in life about kindness and graciousness and wrote two sentences of my own explaining the situation and sent the email.

In the process, I saved all the time it would have taken me to explain everything to ChatGPT. I then used that time to do other things in my life....

Everyone says ChatGPT is great at writing difficult emails that need to be wordsmithed. So here’s what I did:

I had to ask a professional to lower their fee because the fee offered was too high for our project’s budget. Touchy email to write to someone, with somewhat high stakes. So...
“He raped me.”

“Donald J Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein.”

“She was found with her head ‘blown off’… there was no way it was a suicide.”

Now we’re starting to see why Trump was hiding the Epstein files, and it probably gets much worse.
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."
