The Bodleian has refreshed its Space for Reading, a comfortable corner of the Weston Library free for the public to drop in and read. Local schoolchildren have selected bold colours and books on neurodiversity. The space opened in 2021 with books on Syria. visit.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/event/space-...

Tomorrow's episode of Bold Politics is so so rare in British politics: real people who are unafraid to just be themselves for an hour because they know they don't have to protect any vested interests.

It's time for a clearout of robots in Westminster.

Does chaos with Ed Miliband remain an option 🤔🤣?

Imagine if your whole political identity was defined by reacting to an imagined grand liberal conspiracy.

And imagine you were also a Labour MP.

What an odd paranoid existence you would have. Not least as you would despise many people you need to vote for you.

Kinda think even McSweeney’s resignation makes Starmer look weak. He could/should have sacked him, but he didn’t.

I dunno. Giving signal priority to the cleanest, least harmful, least space-grabbing forms of mobility. It's not the worst idea.

Thanking bus drivers. On the brink of social and ecological collapse, Brits will console themselves that they kept saying ‘thank you’ as they left the bus.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

It is worth recalling that the position of U.K. Ambassador to the US was not vacant at the time the Prime Minister chose to appoint Peter Mandelson to the role. A highly competent and respected woman was replaced.

Saliba is just the best goal celebrator :)

Yeah of course do this, rather than anything that would actually make e-bike and e-scooter riders safe. Car-brained nonsense.

There’s a certain kind of person for whom the activity they are ostensibly engaged in - being in government, writing books etc. - is second order work, subservient to the first order task of remaining part of a networked elite. Mandelson seems like ‘Exhibit A’ for that way of being-in-the-world.
