The economic case for methane action is clear.

- Global methane abatement yields large net global economic benefits.
- The benefit-cost ratio of methane action is at least 3—rising to more than 6 when health cobenefits are included.

I stopped listening to Bill Gates talk about climate change a long time ago.

You should stop too.
🌀 Climate change made #HurricaneMelissa more intense.
📈 Up to 10% wetter (💧+14 mm/day)
💨 Up to 10% windier (+8 km/h)
Our new @climameter.bsky.social study shows that natural variability alone can’t explain these changes — human-caused warming is a key driver.

The thing I find so shocking about this video is not only that this person classifies himself as "samfunnsøkonom" (that is, in principle, a rare brand of economists who actually try understand people) - but also that he really seems to believe the utter nonsense he is producing.

May I note in passing that several countries currently have autocratic leaders who inflict intolerable suffering on their own citizens and the rest of the world, but the simple modification of the headquarters of one of these causes a wave of indignation that is completely disproportionate to me.
