Special submission from the Windmill School protest: A highlight from our protest yesterday where this person couldn’t park on the corner as usual, so just hoped that if they did this half way down the street no one would notice.

“You know it’s wrong so please move along!” Children and parents at Windmill Primary School and Headington Nursery School staged a protest this morning against inconsiderate and dangerous driving outside school. They cite the volume of cars coming off the ring road and cutting through these streets.

🚸Windmill Primary protest!
dangerous parking + aggressive driving = children at risk. #pavementparking and ignoring school-streets restrictions 🤯

Kids need space to get to school safely — these behaviours aren’t “just inconvenient”. #SafeSchoolStreets

Parked right across the pavement at a pedestrian crossing. Four fit young men unloading gear(?) for a gig. There was space to park around the corner and they were fit enough to carry it. There for ten minutes.

It's two years today since enforcement began against pavement parking in Edinburgh.

We urge others to follow their lead, so everyone in Scotland can enjoy safer streets.

Parked in a roundabout on double yellow lines at Merrivale Square. Not able to get the pram around it without stepping into oncoming traffic!

It could be easily solved with a couple of removable bollards.

Would make it safer for drivers as this doesn't look like the safest way to join a fast road.

This is totally unacceptable behaviour and needs to be stamped out quickly as everyone else seeing it will think if they are getting away with it then it must be ok. Where is the enforcement?
Eastern Bypass getting a beating by #badlyparkedcars
How do they get there?
By driving along this pavement for about 1km
A growing problem which we've highlighted before including the journeys they make along this pavement/cycle lane.
