"In the year just passed, I recorded some guitars on a version of "So. Central Rain" by my friend Ian McNabb. You might remember him from the Icicle Works. It's a cool version. Hope this helps start the new year off well!" - Peter

Kurt Vile was a surprise guest with his old band the War On Drugs on the final night of A Drugcember To Remember ‘25. They did several songs together including a cover of @remhq.bsky.social’s “Country Feedback,” and Joe Walsh also returned for a second night.

The band formed by members of REM, Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age lives up to the considerable sum of its parts.

Had a great show at the Jazz Cafe last night. Hung out after the show with friends new & old. Pictured are Luke Haines, Tim Wheeler (Ash) & Bernard Butler late of Suede & many solo adventures. Had a lovely conversation. Then they stood on the sidewalk & mocked my inability to load the van correctly.

Supergroup featuring members of REM, Queens of The Stone Age and more make UK debut at The Wedge | Review
I could easily fill this review by talking about the various resumés of the members of supergroup Drink the Sea, but that wouldn’t do justice to what I’ve just witnessed at the Wedge.

Our friend @giannisibilla.bsky.social of Rockol has written an excellent article on "lost gem" “Fretless”--left off Out Of Time but included on the soundtrack for Wim Wender's film, Until the End of the World.

“I have a confession: whenever I travel I take pictures of scenic drain covers, making sure to get my feet in the photo. Had a great show in San Sebastián last night, one of my favorite cities. Did a city ramble after soundcheck. Quite a nice drain cover, and the shoes are good too.” - Peter

Here’s a great story about the origin of the photo used for the Strange Currencies' single cover in 1995 posted by Angie Grass, a longtime friend of Michael’s, who took the photo while on a road trip out West years ago. Many of us at REMHQ had wondered about the story behind the photo & here it is!

On this day 40 years ago, Fables of the Reconstruction was voted Album of the Year at the College Media Journal Awards in New York City. @millsish.bsky.social thanked college radio and the alternative scene, "without which most of the great rock'n'roll of today would never be heard by mortal ears."

We stopped in the middle of nowhere at a truck stop which reputedly was the home of a certain type of 🎂 invented there. Had espresso, skipped the 🎂. They also had a throne next to this statue. Who could resist? Not sure who the statue represented. Nice ‘stache though. Tonight is a show in Santiago!
