After an intense week I needed some pure escapism, which a visit to Russo's Italian bakery fulfilled. Sending images of some sweetness your way. We settled on a few delicious cookies but will be back to sample the Dubai chocolate pistachio cake. I was so enchanted by it I forgot to photograph it.

Thanks to Ava Fernandez for helping to organize this drive for the 230 @umassamherst.bsky.social students displaced by the Olympia Drive fire, who've lost everything. I found the announcement on X, formerly Twitter & thought it important to share here. @hawkeceprof.bsky.social & I will be donating.

Really nice that, within the past 36 hours, I have heard back from 2 of my favorite journals, that papers with a PhD student have both gotten R&Rs - one a major one and one a minor one. For the non-academics out there, R&R stands for Revise & Resubmit and not Rest & Recreation.
