I like apples. I post photos. I dig birds. I write books. The next book is THE STAIRCASE IN THE WOODS, April 2025. Yes, I'm cringe. What do you want from me, I'm a 48-year-old dad and my brain is a mouse-eaten shoebox.

As I am a writer and must peddle my wares lest I die in the abyss, hey! In April 2025, THE STAIRCASE IN THE WOODS emerges from the fog and the trees and if you wanted to pre-order it from your favorite local bookstore -- or get signed, personalized copies from Doylestown Bookshop -- that'd be nice.

GUYS, it’s okay, relax, we have accrued enough punches on our FIFA Peace Prize Card, and it lets us have One Free Unconstitutional War Maneuver — and presidential abductions are not exempted, so it’s totally fine!

Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum condemns the US invasion of Venezuela and kidnapping of its president out of fear that the US may also violate Mexican sovereignty & Trump then tells Fox News that “something is gonna have to be done” about the Mexican President too.
Trump says "something is gonna have to be done" about Mexico and President Claudia Sheinbaum in response to a question about whether the Venezuelan strike was a "message" to her government.

So fmr Honduran President Hernandez voluntarily surrendered, and was duly extradited, tried and convicted for drug trafficking, and Trump pardoned him 6w ago.

And this morning, Trump illegally attacks Venezuela and abducts its president and his wife purportedly to try them for drug trafficking.

Comparison to Panama 1989: in that case US courts had indicted Noriega for drug trafficking, and Panama had declared a state of war with the US and had killed a US Marine. No comparison really
Kidnapping the leader of a foreign state without any declaration of war and announcing it via social media is full-on rogue state stuff. From the world’s number one superpower.

So the plan is Don Jr. and Eric Trump corner the market to become the biggest drug cartel in the Western hemisphere.

CIA controls production, the US military kills the competition with Hellfire missiles, CBP controls drug routes into and out of the US, and ICE raids the local distributors?

I actually think it's time to bring back the approach of curated lists and webrings from the early web again. Huge opportunity space for hand curation of information
In an age where AI slop websites have made entire categories of information difficult to find, what we need is Yahoo (or Dmoz): a human-curated list of reliable websites, organized by topic.

It's still unreal to me that a week later, we still don't know if the claim by the sitting COMMANDER IN CHIEF about a *military strike* in a country WE'RE NOT AT WAR WITH is real or not.
In this clip from a right wing radio show on Friday, Trump claims that on Christmas Eve the US “knocked out” a facility in Venezuela from which the supposed drug boats launch. Has this been reported anywhere else?

The station’s write up doesn’t mention it: wabcradio.com/2025/12/26/s...

an improv group wrote this report

chatgpt is much like an improv comedy group

1) you are the audience, giving it prompts
2) it produces things roughly shaped like your prompt
3) it is trained to respond with Yes, And
4) it has the factual accuracy of improv
5) it does not understand comedy
