Let me introduce myself. I'm a professor @usask.bsky.social at the University of Saskatchewan. My group works on invasive wild pigs, caribou, wolves, and other beasties. I take the responsibility of my academic freedom very seriously and use it and good science to hopefully have some influence.

This year Santa was cleared to travel through Canadian airspace.

Crazy that he has higher security approval than Poilievre.

Returns are down because so many are detained by ICE and can’t get home.

I remember when we used to call chronic wasting disease “a disease in slow motion”. No longer.

This could be a winner.

It's almost like Moe is evil and doesn't care.
Global solar deployment in 2024 shattered records, with nearly 600 gigawatts (GW) installed worldwide, a massive increase driven primarily by China, followed by the U.S. and India. 2025 will shatter that record, hitting over 800 GWs, despite the glass-half empty reporting out of the USA.

Nyquil has been extremely helpful.

I'm on day 11 with this influenza A business and finally not coughing up my lungs.

Agreed. I like the not dying part the best.

I got the flu shot early as I always do. Got the flu anyway and 8 days later finally feeling a bit better- it is brutal.

One thing the flu shot does well is reduce the number of people that end up in the hospital or dead due to flu. For that I am grateful.

Before and after pictures- SPCA saved her from the streets as a skinny bag of bones - we hit the jackpot 8 years ago and now she’s part of the family. aka double stinky or tick tick or Phoenix.

Its easy to see how crazy movies have become. John McClane killed 71 people total. John Wick killed 439.

I repeat, you literally could NOT pay me enough to go to the US right now. Fuck that noise.

My Dad always enjoyed this Mark Twain quote, and I do as well.

"When I was 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much he had learned in 7 years,"

Total count of wildlife overpasses in Saskatchewan remains firmly set at zero.
H0 H0 H0 😂

The EOS R6 Mark II can effectively track the whole body, face, or eye of animals, which is really slick and the autofocus is pretty outrageous.

Ouch. That causes me physical pain to hear that. I like Nikon a lot but have been a Canon EOS guy for a long time now. Some of my friends have purchased really nice Nikon's but then struggle to afford to buy a range of lenses as they are so pricey and so don't have a good macro rig and longer zoom.

Cool thanks!

Cool. Thanks! I defer to your expertise.

Keep in mind these wolves are pretty huge...way bigger than your typical doggy.

ooh yeah I was guessing sandhill crane based on the foot and leg.

That's a very fair assessment.

I was thinking maybe sandhill crane. It looks a little big for geese maybe. Look at me talking like I have a clue.

yeah I know its a reach...not sure if it it helps that its late October. I've never once been accused of being a bird expert.
