Make no mistake this is THE PLAN. Alberta and Saskatchewan are following the same play book. Force public health care to 'fail' on purpose. Respond with private health care as the 'fix'.

While for us this is indeed a massive 'fail', it is what Smith and Moe are aiming for.

Budget drop confirms $180 million over the next five years to continue strengthening the Hudson Bay Railway and diversifying operations at the Port of Churchill.

Hopefully this puts to rest the absolute nonsense around considering Port Nelson as another option, even though we know it is a scam.

Having some buyer's remorse with respect to Carney. I mean obviously PeePee was/is a trainwreck and Carney was the only viable candidate worth even considering, but he is more conservative than I was hoping/expecting.

As a Canadian researcher/academic, it's beyond discouraging that the federal gov't is rolling out the welcome mat for foreign assistant professors, doctoral students and postdocs, while *cutting* domestic research funding and doing nothing to support those of us who are already here, doing the work.

Budget dropped.

$150 million in new funding for CBC/Radio-Canada to modernize and "strengthen its mandate".

A concession to the Bloc Québécois but one I think it is an overall good move.
