Couldn’t agree more. Ms. Hart doesn’t understand what a book is.

Oh APA, I hope one day you will learn there are things more important than money
For all you Psychology folks out there, APA is a member of this group.

So, they co-signed this thank you note to Trump at the same time they posted about how bad racism is re: Trump’s AI video.

That’s not nonpartisan. That’s playing both sides.

Tear gas is banned in international warfare, yet classified as a “riot control agent” that law enforcement can use for crowd control.

“It just doesn’t work well, and it hits the weakest people the most, and causes the most complications in them,” an anesthesiology professor at Duke University said.
Tear Gas Is Way More Dangerous Than Police Let On
In the middle of a respiratory pandemic, law enforcement agencies have used tear gas in especially dangerous ways. The chemical agent also seeps into homes, contaminates food, furniture, skin and surf...

“This building belongs to the people of this city.”

Maybe the thing I like most about Mamdani is his knack for effortlessly communicating the true nature of the social contract without melodrama or pretense.

Yes, it’s a public building. You pay for it. That means it’s yours. Come take a look.
It’s your city, from the sidewalk to the skyline. The David Dinkins Municipal Building’s rooftop is open & free to everyone, starting this June.

Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win
How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.

Observers have been working day and night to protect these neighborhoods from ICE, make the streets safe so kids can go to school and people can go to their jobs. Burning down the street undoes all our work. The people setting fires haven’t been putting in long hours watching plates or doors.

When I consider the bandwidth needed to pushback against the revisionist birthright citizenship history, I think a lot about Toni Morrison’s idea of racism being a power of distraction. Every new argument, every new twist, every new publication, costs time, energy. It takes away from something else.

This is a great list! I'm impressed with how much independent, nonprofit journalism that Minnesota has!

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing.

You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics.

That is all.
Mamdani: For too long, those fluent in the good grammar of civility have deployed decorum to mask agendas of cruelty

There are dozens of reasons other than “not good enough” that one person is selected/succeeds in a very competitive field. There’s often almost no difference between #1 and #4 or even #34. On a different day…different results. In many spaces, what we need is more room for more people to succeed.
Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

No matter what you eat for the holidays, please never:

- comment on how much someone is eating
- comment on how little someone is eating
- comment on someone eating

This can be a major trigger for people with eating disorders. Plus it’s none of your business. Thanks!

Behn: My biggest pet peeve in politics is when people who don’t live in the South say, “You get what you voted for.” I didn’t vote for the highest maternal mortality rate in the country. I didn’t vote for the highest inflationary cost of groceries in the country.
