I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.
I Am An AI Hater
I am an AI hater. This is considered rude, but I do not care, because I am a hater.

I think there are two things people need to know bc they're different from most platforms

1. There's not just one feed running an opaque algorithm, you can choose (and have more than one)

2. *Everything is public* even if you can't see it on this app

I REPEAT: EVERYTHING YOU DO HERE IS PUBLIC
It's always so funny and dumb when people start doing the "this is BlueSky, and we do things a bit different around here! Here's my itemized 20 point list of instructions!" posts, because if that's what BlueSky was actually like, you wouldn't *need* to be telling people to do that stuff, would you?
remember when we all tried to migrate to mastodon that one time and then the people there were really preachy and hostile to us? that's some of you here right now

Abusing your grandmother's suffering for content and making fake memories with AI is some evil ass stuff.
The comments on this are all about how sweet it is and I feel insane. Using AI to make fake memories of your grandma with dementia and telling her they happened and then filming her reaction

Look, I'm sure that Nolan's adaptation of "The Odyssey" will be fun, but I highly doubt it will be as good as the original.

I'm reading Going Postal right now and he explains why, in a world that includes magic, people do not use magic to do everything (or anything, for the most part)

basically, it's inherently unpredictable and you know it will cost you but you don't know how or when

People want to think changing the world is all big protests and important speeches and dramatic moments

but you'd be surprised how much you can accomplish by being *consistently* annoying
"How can I make life difficult for them" is a very different question than "do i have the formal authority to change this decision"

I have no idea why Rob Reiner, or anyone else, wanted to make this story into a movie, and close examination of the film itself is no help. "North" is one of

The difference between undergraduate and graduate courses or study
Immediately we come to an important question for the field: is haterdom in general (Statler and Waldorf) qualitatively different than haterdom in specific (Kendrick Lamar with Drake; you're a mean one mr grinch)?

Dante was a hater
There's clearly a lot of overlap. If you don't seek eternal retribution, was it really hate at all? (Which reminds me: Dante Alighieri!)

I've gotten some good questions and points but not a lot of primary source texts, if people have any classic works of haterdom to share.

Examples include They Not Like Us, You're a Mean One Mr Grinch, and The Haunting of Lin-Manuel Miranda
