If we can build off this to win the next 2 or 3 election cycles, we can permanently banish the GOP from national prominence. Within 20 yrs current demographic trends will erode their ability to ever win another national election. So, don't look back; fight forward.

We can use this to win the midterms and take back both houses of Congress. We can springboard from their to winn back the WH in 2028. We cannot (MUST not) let Dems wallow in recriminations and infighting.

The recent elections showed clearly that voters don't approve of GOP policies and tactics. We need to build on that. We need to organize around it. We need to turn out voters who were appalled by what the GOP did (and by ICE raids and the Epstein files).

So, it's clear for all to see: the GOP doesn't care if you can eat, they don't care if you die for lack of health care, they don't care if your flight home to see grandma crashes. The don't give a sh!t about anyone but their wealthy donors. We all need to keep the focus on the brutality of the GOP.

The GOP made it a fight betw/ food and healthcare as their way to force passage of a continuing resolution to fund the budget. They made millions of federal workers & contractors work for free, like a return to slavery. And, they nearly destroyed the airline industry to demand their way.

The shutdown, and the our attempts to secure an extension of ACA health care subsidies, demonstrated for all to see: Republicans are so violently opposed to allowing millions to keep their health care they were willing to fight all the way to the Supreme Court to deny food to those in need.

We shouldn't make the mistake of thinking the Dems could have "won" this fight in the short term. You can't shame the GOP when they're shameless, you can't appeal to their morality when they're amoral. The real stakes here involve pinning the impact of the shutdown on the GOP. FOREVER.
In the most predictable development ever, Mike Johnson is not committing to hold a House vote on ACA subsidies

Tuesday’s elections were NOT about the Democratic Party.

They were about candidates focusing on the wants and needs of their constituents; about new leaders prepared to fight; about representation in every sense of the word.

Party leaders haven’t absorbed this yet.

Senators, it's beyond time: I am asking you to please call for a vote for new Senate leadership.
This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

Through the campaigns of Zohran Mamdani and Mikie Sherrill, we can see a path that tenuously unites both social democrats and moderates. Future Democratic electoral successes will rest on a foundation...
