In 2016 if somebody was hypothesizing the worst possible consequences of a Trump Administration and said "NATO will disintegrate" they'd be accused of hysterical overreaction, but now it's like, yeah, I think that's probably in the best interests of non-U.S. members.

An important point that shows the cynical character of the whole situation.
Venezuela has an elected president, Edmundo González, who won the July 2024 election that Maduro stole according to the govt's own tally sheets & a slew of independent observers incl those from Carter Center. That this has been utterly disregarded shows the cynicism of Trump's plans for the nation.
