Its happened to me at least five times! I can’t go innocently into the Vatican to read a simple manuscript of my beloved Renaissance radicals discussing atheism or Machiavellian politics or porn, without being supernaturally forgiven! 🤣
I keep accidentally getting indulgences doing research in Italy! I’ll be going about my day reading inscriptions on a wall, and it’ll say “Whoever reads this plaque gets an indulgence!” Or I’ll be walking to the Vatican library & pope will should out in a mic “Whoever hears this gets an indulgence!”

The seasons often collide on Million Dollar Highway (US 550) in Colorado, famed for its dramatic San Juan Mountain scenery, steep cliffs, tight turns, and lack of guardrails!

I'd believe this anecdote because I've met guys like this at conventions. People do ask (politely) about their work and they can't pitch it because what makes it special is that they are the specialest boy. They go to panels and hear queer and BIPOC writers talk about their work and think "ah ha". +

What "Wake Up Dead Man" illustrates best is that behaviors and actions that are toxic IRL (represented by Wicks divisive ministry of his parish) are standard practice online. As more and more of our time and attention are placed in those online spaces, it is hard to escape from this toxicity.
