I think about this line a lot but I truly believe no actor could have delivered “she’s not asking for god’s help, she’s asking for mine” the way it was meant to be except for Clint Eastwood. He was made for that.

I’ve made the point before but it infuriates me when Some people try to guilt you by saying “oh you said George bush was fascist, bet you feel stupid now”…do u mean that liberal and left critiques of the party were wrong when fuller throated fascism happened with literally the party’s next president

FOX insisted that the 300th episode be scheduled specifically on February 16, 2003 so that there was time to plan a huge promotion for the episode. However, the actual 300th episode had already aired two weeks prior. (Marge's response here was a reference to this.)

I am of the opinion that this period was actually still very good. It would be sadly not that many months after this aired that the show fell off a gigantic cliff quality wise
23 years ago today, February 16, 2003: “Barting Over”, the 300th-ish episode of #TheSimpsons, first aired on Fox.

Even in schools in chile, you could conceivably do the both sides thing where: “yes he tortured a ton of people and killed democracy for decades, but if you look at the economic ‘Miracle’ and…”

With trump, what is the other side in the lesson plan? That he kept dooming the economy for fun and then…
If you just write, to teach in a good but completely nonpartisan history course in a public high school , what trump did and does, and just teach that, you will a thousand percent get a bunch of phone calls about parents yelling about you for being CRT DEI or w/e. Impossible to do in a real way
February 17, 2026 at 12:59 AM
That will immediately be read as partisan because I’m sorry, it sort of is right now and that is not the fault of anyone except the ruling party
Easy. You teach the constitution and let kids draw their own conclusions. They do, and it is wonderful to see
February 17, 2026 at 12:56 AM
I do sympathize with people trying to teach history and current events in high schools who are instructed to do it in nonpartisan ways because mother fucker, how do u do that with trump, it will only be possible with the passage of time

We've joked for years about how posting isn't activism but now that the government is a gang of social media-obsessed fascists it actually is
Posting about ICE on Instagram is now enough to get you an “administrative subpoena.” 👀

Don’t think I know any but fwiw @brandyzadrozny.bsky.social is one of the best in our profession and she’s a former librarian!
Q: do you have former librarians who are switching careers? I’m wondering if there are folks who go the opposite directions from all the journalists I knew in my MLIS program in 2010-2011

Some of you may hate that I play the “I’m an Ohio educator, technically” card as much as I do but I as an adjunct journalism professor in a comparable Ohio city and as someone who lives in Ohio, had worked in Ohio as a professional journalist at multiple national publications while here, and…
A conscientious journalism grad withdraw from a job when she learned the Cleveland Plain Dealer uses AI to write its stories.

Now the editor is castigating her and journalism professors for not being “prepared for the workforce.”

I mean this; this is my position: whatever number those people…
