It's like living in deja vu. Rumsfeld and Bush saying "We're not at war with Iraq, we're at war with the dead-enders from Saddam's corrupt and defeated regime."
WELKER: Is the US at war with Venezuela?

MARCO RUBIO: There's not a war. I mean, we're at war against drug trafficking organizations. It's not a war against Venezuela.

So I guess we just spent millions to illegally immigrate a drug dealer, right?

One big difference from Iraq: these guys are already on the defensive and it's likely to get worse for them, not better
Marco Rubio on comparisons between Venezuela and Iraq: "People need to stop describing the apples of the Middle East to the oranges of the Western Hemisphere

"Humane American Prison" is an oxymoron far beyond the tolerance of basic human credulity.
“warmth of collectivism,” now why would he choose those words? 🤔

The security reason to electrify transport is not about oil imports, it’s economic resilience. Oil powers 90% of US vehicles, so when the price of oil spikes because of a war, people & companies pay more for energy, which hurts the economy. The more transport is electrified, econ security goes up.

These stories are just starting to come in. This was not some bloodless coup done "for the vine" this was a crass murderous act with real victims beyond the basic rule of law.
The casualties already coming in. Grandmothers in their apartments….

God this was so so so bad and so totally unnecessary and nobody in power in this country really seems to care that we needlessly murdered at least a bus load of people to make it happen.
NYT:

At least 40 people were killed in the US attack on Venezuela, including military personnel and civilians.

This is very accurate because he's threatening Central and South America while in position to shit all over the United States.

I saw this on a quote and I knew it was about The Pitt without having to check.
I do love that over the course of a 12 hour shift every character at least once asks someone else “are you mad at me?”, extremely accurate

A lot of people sounding like the people who are embarrassed to talk about things they said 2 weeks into the Iraq invasion today.

It's a war "for the Vine" followed by a peace for the plunder.

It would be bad enough if he was just saying that we could do this anywhere, but what he's actually saying is that we're staying in VZ until our puppet is fully in charge and that if they don't do what we want we'll reinvade.
Watch this. Watch again.

"This incredible thing last night... We have to do it again [in other countries]. We can do it again, too. Nobody can stop us."

One of the funniest things here is that Hegseth clearly needs reading glasses but Trump thinks glasses are signs of poor genetics so he can't wear them and is forced to hunch and squint in order to do his war crimes.
