It appears we’re literally doing this within the Venezuelan leadership, even though (I think? Am I wrong) they’re all involved in the same narco stuff?
Several decades of United States (bad) foreign policy in Latin America is basically “for ‘our narcos,’ the world, and for ‘their narcos,’ the sword.”
So we’re murdering people in the Caribbean because narcoterrosim is bad, but this guy goes free because narcoterrosim is a pardonable offense?

I don't care for all the cavalier musings by randos, most of whom know/care nothing about the people of Taiwan, about how this is going to embolden China to invade Taiwan.

Putting aside the weakness for just a moment, this is the kind of statement you put out if you’re pretty sure about what’s going to happen next in Venezuela and I don’t think anyone should be so certain
Please see my statement on the situation in Venezuela:

In what court? On what charges? Is John Roberts presiding over a trial of a foreign head of state? I hope he has to because this is as much on his head as anyone else’s.

Balls and strikes mfer.
Rubio has confirmed (via BBC) Maduro will stand trial in the U.S.

Fucking hell, call your reps.
Chatham House expert has just declared the possibility that Maduro has likely been flown out of country to stand trial in the U.S. "in a violation of national sovereignty."

"The U.S. will morally own what the outcomes are."

Okay, but I bet this involved the line “picture this: inside your kitchen there are two wolves” and if it didn’t it was the missed opportunity of a lifetime
This kitchen doesn't just have a kitchen island, it has a kitchen continent. And then they went to the Wolf dealer who sold them on smashing two Wolf ovens together ($25K?). #FridayNightZillow

Cover reveal. It's about how & why colonies/states controlled international & domestic migration until 1888, why in the late 19th c the feds took over, & what it was like for politically disfavored groups to live under that arrangement of power. You can't understand voluntary migration history 1/

Kids can’t even build a proper Wicker Man these days. Come the solstice they just hose down a random cop with gasoline and light him on fire! Don’t even check to see if he’s a virgin!

Just going to say that I remember seeing that guy’s attempt to translate his name into Chinese, which is his phonetic first name (lái mín - symbols meaning come / nationality) and his literal last name (shi- symbol for stone), doing a massive eyeroll and then ignoring him from then on

Amazing thread
The retirement of the MetroCard at midnight tonight is bittersweet for me. In 1983, as a young lawyer, I took a year's leave of absence from my law firm to serve as special counsel to Richard Ravitch, chairman of the NY MTA. He gave me the task of leading a study ...
It's the final day of MetroCard sales—so as we say farewell to an icon, let's take a look at how it all started.

Thank you, MetroCard, for moving New York to the very last swipe.
