Early concerns suggested congestion pricing could worsen traffic in the Bronx, Brooklyn and New Jersey.

Thousands of MTA employees shoveled stairs and platforms, plowed miles of snow, delivered tons of salt, de-iced rails, and helped customers get where they need to go. Thank you to them and thank you for riding with us.

This weekend's winter storm brought plenty of snow to the region, but through it all, we kept New York moving—thanks to the thousands of MTA employees across New York City Transit, Metro-North Railroad, Long Island Rail Road, Access-A-Ride, and Bridges and Tunnels.

The snow came. The city kept running.

MTA crews kept more than 2,300 buses and 4,400 subway and Staten Island Railway trains moving through the storm.

Janno was out there too, checking in with teams that kept New York moving.

LIRR crews used salt, heat, and jet-powered snow blowers to keep trains moving yesterday. Yes, jet-powered.

The railroad has seven rail-bound jet blowers — repurposed jet and helicopter engines — that blast snow and ice clear of switches and the third rail.

Avoid unnecessary travel if possible. If you must travel, use extra caution. Be careful when entering or exiting buses and trains, and don’t run on wet or icy surfaces.

WINTER STORM UPDATE: Starting at 6pm, the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven Lines are operating on a reduced schedule, running every 2 hours.

Our TrainTime app and mta.info may not have up to date real-time service information; listen for announcements.
