I haven’t talked about this publicly—I won’t get into details—but the week of March 7th I had a patient die by suicide because of depression.

Anti-depressants save lives. We live in a world where most people are completely unaware that depression can be a terminal illness - and not just because of suicide. This is a very good thing. The rarity of depression at that level of severity is entirely due to modern medicine.

I remember us sitting there, knee deep in a methods section, and someone saying “is there going to be an America tomorrow?” at which point we realized everyone actually had news/twitter up…and we called it a day.
Happy 5 year anniversary to the lab “Paper In A Day” we started and didn’t finish that day!

I remember us sitting there, knee deep in a methods section, and someone saying “is there going to be an America tomorrow?” at which point we realized everyone actually had news/twitter up…and we called it a day.
On the plus side, after the AI bubble bursts and shit hits the fan, I think there is potential for a booming market for HUMAN craftsmanship in all areas of life.
In my—admittedly overly optimistic—view, it could be a renaissance of humanity coming back to ourselves.
