NEW: Lawyers for a man convicted of assaulting Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who killed Renee Good, seek the investigative file on her killing and his training records, arguing they may provide mitigating factors in sentencing or reason for a new trial. @dell.bsky.social has the details:

The government has withheld details of the investigation of Renee Good's killing—but an unrelated case involving the ICE agent who shot her could force new revelations.

I think the movie depicting violent revolutionaries as narcissistic buffoons who endanger the people they claim to protect would have been better if Leo had ended the movie by looking into the camera and saying “Being a good parent and friend is better than blowing things up.”

You can feel however you like about it, but I don't think it's actually mysterious why stories about Donald Trump often contain curious phrases that read like they're there solely for the purpose of denying an attorney filing a frivolous lawsuit the opportunity to say they're not there.

Mobile Fortify, the facial recognition tool ICE claims offers definitive proof of legal status, isn’t even designed for what it’s being used for, and was rolled out after a Project 2025 guy dismantled DHS’s centralized privacy assessments
ICE and CBP’s Face-Recognition App Can’t Actually Verify Who People Are
ICE has used Mobile Fortify to identify immigrants and citizens alike over 100,000 times, by one estimate. It wasn't built to work like that—and only got approved after DHS abandoned its own privacy r...

“I'm all for removing illegals, but snatching dudes off lawn mowers in Cali and leaving the truck and equipment just sitting there? Definitely not working smarter,” writes one forum user.

Now that I think about it, seeing the disgusting Twins get thrashed by the powerful and virile White Sox in front of their goober fans sounds like a great time.
Axios had a story today about how hard Minnesota’s economy is being hit and how slow the recovery could be. So, I’m going to take this opportunity to say that if you want to support the Twin Cities, you should plan a visit for this summer, spend some money here, & see how amazing it is for yourself.

The extent to which all of this is about one guy's psychological inability to admit he lost a contest will never stop breaking my brain. Perhaps a good lesson is that it's important to teach your kids how to lose—maybe even giving awards just for playing to show that not losing isn't everything.
