Another resistance quilt finished this week. The eye is my own design, the letters are a fpp pattern by QuiltByNight, the rounded corners and black binding are meant to resemble the phones we the people are using to document the horrors and disprove the government’s lies about what they are doing.

Thus bringing joy amidst the madness to all of your followers! 🤓
I am speechless.

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont in his State of the State address: “ICE, everywhere you go uninvited, violence follows. Go home! We’re keeping our Connecticut safe without you.”

Huge standing ovation from Dems; GOP stays seated, House Minority Leader Vincent Candelora shakes his head.

And that’s why I take my postcards to voters with me - I can write them while I wait! ☺️💪🏼

👀 Every Senate Democrat + Collins and Murkowski just voted for the Bernie Sanders amendment to repeal the $75 billion in additional ICE funding under Trump’s “big beautiful bill.” The measure failed 49-51.

Got the package that gives you access to all of this year’s Sundance shorts. Watched 17 shorts today. More tomorrow! 📽️🤓
An extraordinary document. Read it.

“Attached to this order is an appendix that identifies 96 court orders that ICE has violated in 74 cases. … ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”

This. Is. Awesome.

I don’t live in NYC, but I burst into tears at the last line! 🤓❤️🥹
I wrote the speech I *wish* Chuck Schumer would give tonight - as an actual opposition leader. Here it is:

"My fellow Americans: At this hour, an unrestrained force of militarized and violent federal officers is carrying out a project of ethnic cleansing in the streets of American cities."

Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.

We're getting a snowstorm tomorrow. But New York City is prepared.
Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

Signs about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so.

Incredibly emotional to hear my poem has been turned into a song of resistance and is being sung in Minneapolis right now. Please do not give up.

It’s cold comfort right now but, if past is prologue, spectacles of violence committed by the state against sympathetic civilians—especially when captured on camera—were the beginning of the end for Bull Connor and Jim Crow, too.

Everyone knows Rosa Parks, but fewer know it was Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old, who first refused to give up her seat and sparked a movement.

Colvin has passed away at 86.

I spoke about her during the commencement address at @wesleyanuniversity.bsky.social

Best TikTok thing going is the two dudes trying food from every country without leaving NYC. If you haven’t seen them yet, it’s incredible. My favorite so far is last week’s. Legit got me emotional.
As we, the good people of America, remember J6 with horror and sadness, spare a thought for the residents of the city it happened in.

DC is often overlooked as a place where folks live, but this trauma happened to us, on our streets, in the place we call home.
Members of Congress: stop posting online and APPEAR, PHYSICALLY on the steps of the Capitol to decry this unconstitutional violation of domestic & international law. SHOW THE PEOPLE the level of danger we are facing as a country.
