My end-of-year publishing roundup: I had zero books and zero short stories come out this year. I did write, I just didn't write anything that came out in 2025.

In 2026 I have a novella coming out from Tor! You can preorder it!

See, this is the part that worries me. Yes, there should have been justice and yes, it should have been swift. But two weeks? The propaganda machine on the right is destabilizing, reality-warping and cynical. And massive. And organized. There us no analog on the left.
My dad a day after 1/6 was rattled, borderline horrified. Two weeks later he was asking me how I could get so worked up about a walking tour of the U.S. Capitol. Propaganda works!

I know I have a lot of Minnesotans following me. We are sending whistles to @mspwhistles.bsky.social as fast as we can, but if you are one of my followers/pals and you need some, please reach out to me. 💓 We have a lot of folks making smaller amounts that could go to local groups!
The surge is surging today. Many ppl taken. This is with roughly 500 agents on the ground.

This also means CBP is coming. Extremely bad news.

Chatbots have a collective body count equal to Richard "The Night Stalker" Ramirez, and they're trying to put them in schools.
30 years ago they were like we have to ban song lyrics for the children but it’s full steam ahead for the here’s how to do drugs until you die machine
“ChatGPT started coaching Sam on how to take drugs, recover from them and plan further binges. It gave him specific doses of illegal substances, and in one chat, it wrote, ‘Hell yes—let’s go full trippy mode’”

I stood up off the floor to answer the phone.

Wound up needing surgery 🫠 (I tore my meniscus. I was a whole 22 years old when this happened and everyone was like, "did you hurt your knee playing frisbee? Skiing? Falling on ice, at least?")
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

😅

Re-sharing this with alt text added (image appears twice because the text didn't quite fit and is continued on image #2). This is an incredibly important message from Colin and Sophie Hortman, the children of Melissa and Mark Hortman.

issuing a correction on my previous post describing Vichy Twitter as "the Nazi App," it is now also "the Nazi And CSAM App"
This does seem just a little bit bad! Idk the sort of thing you’d think politicians might distance themselves from or something!

Imagine if, say, a single rock song, or a comic book, or a role playing game, or a video game, or horror movie, a chocolate bar, a toy, or, say, a person like a librarian or teacher, had an actual direct causal body count like this.... Imagine the furore, the witch hunt in the press, the outrage...

This is my favorite headcanon and it's a great example of how readers can offer a different reading of a text that the author never considered and did not intend, but is nonetheless validated by the text itself.

Every single Minnesota news outlet should be shoving microphones into the faces of Demuth, Robbins, Lindell, everyone else running for governor, and every MNGOPer licking trumps ass to ask if they agree with this shit. It’s time we know.
Donald Trump is now reposting videos on Truth Social suggesting that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had Melissa Hortman assassinated.

This is objectively evil, and calling it out should not be political.

"Oil" isn't a single replaceable good. Refineries have to be very specifically and intensively configured to accept and work with a specific kind of crude oil product. The imprimatur for Venezuela's thick, heavy goopy slop specifically is that there are Gulf Coast refineries capable of processing it

My attitude on this is that I'm not calling them because I think I can change their minds.

I'm calling them because it is unthinkable to let them do this without hearing how evil and awful they are.

My spite powers me. If I can get just 500 people a day to join me, we could fuck up their day.
I call Tommy Tuberville every fucking week, multiple times a week, because he can be evil but I don't have to let him do it without pushback.

So I don't need to hear excuses. I call the dumbest senator in the country. 😂

So I mentioned yesterday that an Imam in Minnesota keeps a beautiful copy of the Qu'ran for ceremonial use by Muslims elected to offices in Minnesota. But this started in 2016. And Keith Ellison (now State Attorney General) was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2006. 🧵
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.
