With the longer exposure time (n.b. I don't have a particularly good phone camera, I wasn't using a tripod, and I don't have a very steady hand). (We were on the balcony, which conveniently faces north, but I had actually turned SOUTH to get this, towards the house.)

So the thing about aurora photos is that the Northern Lights often show up much better in a photo with even a slightly long exposure time than they do if you're just looking at the sky.

That said, this is actually an excellent depiction of what I SAW with my EYES from my YARD.

It's a beautiful day to doorknock for DeWayne Davis! Lots of people have not made their minds up about this race; talk to your neighbors about your favorite and tell them #dontrankfrey.

What I love about SF/F is that you can both take a metaphor and make it real, and take something real and make it a metaphor, in the same story at the same time.

Bad news for me, a person who would like to go to bed: a cat went to bed first and by bed I mean my lap

Maybe "need" oversells it, I saw something dumb and jokey and deleted it and my change was reverted as "unconstructive," I don't have time for an edit war, the page is here:

I think the reason the Weinermobile always makes me smile is that it's clearly driven straight out of a Busytown book:

Seriously, if what someone wants is someone else's version of the End of ASoIaF, I bet one of these would scratch that itch:

Here's one I discovered recently because it's a Pokestop: the Ford Ave Little Puzzle Library.

I wrote about this sort of political Circle of Life (where people discover that somehow they've turned into evil defenders of the dysfunctional status quo) back in 2017.
