Feeling very proud to have two pieces in the finals of the 2025 Reader’ Poll - but also very proud to be alongside such great writers, working at the absolute top of their game. All of these stories are just *immense*. I’m going to read them all again now.
Our readers' poll finalists were announced in the February issue.

The scammers just keep getting more ridiculous.

"Our established association of multi-family offices and wealthy individuals are on the lookout for exciting new investments in and around the science fiction magazine sector and Clarkesworld Magazine was preliminarily considered as an option."

what's up, my story "remember me in the meat" is a queer cyberpunk revenge story set in the PNW (and also in a cult). i think we should store all of our memories in the cloud without a backup, btw. i think that would go really well

I have a story out today! 'A Sleeper Ship is Like a Game of Go' is probably the most ambitious thing I've ever written, with future tense and a bit of slice of life. It’s about why we tell stories, why we play Go, and the role of AI in both of those.

If you could donate and/or share my Go Fund Me campaign, it would go a long way to helping me pay for increased costs for my breast cancer treatment. Details in my update.

Very sad to hear about the passing of James Sallis. Condolences to his friends and family.
I had the pleasure of editing and publishing one of his stories a few years back and, just a few days ago, I was typesetting an interview with him for our February issue.

While analyzing our 2025 submission data, I noticed that the US is now the primary producer of slop submissions (which includes fully and partially-generated/assisted/whatever). Congrats. You're #1. Happy? You should be embarrassed. Please stop.

(In 2023 and 2024, the US wasn't in the top three.)

Patreon is once again being pressured by Apple to convert all creators to use a single billing model. No opt-out. We have until November and will wait until the bitter end before giving up our first of the month billing option. The change is disruptive to our process for handling print subscriptions
