It appears as though SFWA has had a very quick change of heart and is now back on the right side of this. Shouldn't have happened in the first place. New Nebula Awards eligibility rules for generated text are now:
Previous Text: “Works that are wholly written using generative large language model (LLM) tools are not eligible.” New Text: “Works that are written, either wholly or partially, by generative large language model (LLM) tools are not eligible.” -and- Previous Text: “Works that used LLMs at any point during the writing process must disclose this upon acceptance of the nomination, and the nature of the technology’s use will be made clear to voters on the final ballot” New Text: “Works that used LLMs at any point during the writing process must disclose this upon acceptance of the nomination, and those works will be disqualified.”

Very disappointed in the new Nebula Award eligibility information from SFWA that allows partially-generated works to be on the ballot. See 9.11.2.

I won't say that won't happen in the real world because you never know who will decide to invest in the BuildingDestroyer(tm) after seeing that picture instead of buying a subscription and supporting real human artists and authors. Those people probably wouldn't support us anyway because we hate their so-called "AI" and mock their little toys when we have the opportunity to. But yes, visit our world. The stories are good. Really. At least we think so. Can't hurt to try, can it? Stay as long as you like. There's nineteen years of stories, many in audio too. Just don't forget to stop to eat and drink and sleep and take care of yourself. And when you're ready, go back to the real world and fight your monsters or just breathe. You can come back any time. I suppose I should stop rambling now. I apologize for the lack of a screaming possum in this ad, but trust that it is there in spirit.

First started listening to Gary Numan sometime in the early 80s (definitely in high school). Finally got to see him perform live last night in CT and he did not disappoint. Amazing and energic show. I was there early enough to get a spot right against the stage.

And today, the hawk returned. Trailcam had some water on the lens, so the photos didn't come out, but @lisaclarke.net managed to snap these on her good camera.

Morning fun. The fountain in the pool we've set up to entertain the local wildlife died. Replaced it yesterday and it's attracting more attention than the old one. This is a Cooper's Hawk.

I saved the life of one my little chipmunk friends this morning. He was being hunted by a bobcat outside my front door. Ran outside in my pjs, screaming as it was about to pounce.
This is our first bobcat sighting. @lisaclarke.net got this picture of it. There's also some video on the trail cam.
A bobcat sitting on the path to our front door. This mighty predator is fixated on a chipmunk that is hiding in foliage by our house. When it was clear that he was about to eat my little friend, I ran out of the house screaming and both went in opposite directions. Tragedy averted.

There are those that might claim the turkey is being framed. Surveillance video clear captures them in the act. Local wildlife authorities have been notified. This is a fox laying in wait in our backyard. Pixelated because of recent doxxing of fox agents.
