Meanwhile, here's an example of the horrendous things found in Hillary Clinton's emails—the only story worth covering for any serious news outlet in 2016, apparently.

This email is also regarding a child who suffered abuse from a grown man.
thinking about how i get anxious writing emails because i don't want to sound like a moron while larry summers is apparently typing emails like this:

u kno she dint want to talk tomorrow. make me bad pheel.
For folks (and journalists) who want to search the Oversight Committee email texts, I made a database for searching the 20k text files:

This Waitrose ad is better than the majority of movies I've seen this year.

One of my earliest moments of radicalization was in 2005 when Larry Summers said that women biologically have less aptitude for science than men. Following that, scores of equally unimpressive people wrote pieces trying to explain or justify his remarks, when they should have called for his removal.

The first album that I ever bought was
𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩 - Neil Young🍁

I wish Neil all the best on
His 80th birthday ~Nov. 12th

Neil Young is a Canadian🇨🇦 musical icon that I started listening to as a teenager.

I still listen to him today.
So many great songs!

I spent last week reading and re reading and diving deep into the worlds Patti Smith recreated for her new memoir, Breqd of Angels: www.salon.com/2025/11/11/p...

No one has asked for this cut. Not librarians, not Alderpeople, not the library’s union, and certainly not the residents who rely on Chicago’s 81 branches every day.

Government has published one of those quiet but important documents that might get overlooked as it is not 'newsy'. The headline finding is that £1 of public R&D investment generates £8 in net economic benefits for the UK over the long term

Great essay, thank you! And I am also fascinated by Bruce’s punk connections and influences, so thanks for flagging that!

The first mention of the term "electric Nebraska" that I could find was in Backstreets #11, Fall 1984. In an interview Charles Cross did with Max Weinberg, this discussion took place: buff.ly/8wlaX2U #springsteen

And yes I have a particular outfit that I often reach for that I think of as “Diane Keaton taking the Jitney to the Hamptons” and I suspect many women my age are the same.

This one is hard. Loved her work and her style and the fact that she was a gorgeous, intelligent, older woman who did not GAF. Travel on well Diane Keaton.
