Ötzi and a 45,000-year-old Siberian were both infected with a cancer-causing strain of HPV.
This is fascinating, and a reminder that we have a vaccine that *prevents cancer* and everyone eligible should get it.
Two ancient humans, including famed ‘Iceman,’ had cancer-causing virus
Findings from ancient DNA may shed light on HPV’s history in our species

Chapel Hill will finish in the top ten wettest years on record despite an abnormally dry fall. The 8.66 inches departure from normal is almost entirely from 3 hours of rainfall in July from tropical depression Chantal.
watching the CECOT 60 Minutes segment that CBS suppressed, it’s striking that Weiss specifically called out as unnecessary some of the most rigorous investigative work in the segment, including an explanation of how it was done (by human rights researchers)

They reveal how temperatures inside churches have changed over time due to climate change and increased heating.

Here’s my version of the chocolate fudge brownie. There’s several different versions of the recipe bouncing around the intertubes. Including on the Palmer House’s website. The brownie itself was invented there. Mrs Palmer wanted a signature desert for the World’s Columbia Exposition 1893. 1/
