We will never be the country we were again, even if we manage to take control back from these nazis. They have burned our soft power at the altar of christian theocracy and fascistic nationalism, and it will take an unimaginable amount of time to rebuild it, if we even can.

They get so mad at criticism from Tim Walz and frankly Walz is far too tepid and conciliatory for my tastes. It’s a tell that more direct, biting criticism from Democrats is needed. The fucking babies can’t handle it.

Look at how they howl at Omar, Crockett, AOC.

Do we really have to go through some mandatory period where we all pretend that Homan is ANY better than Bovino? The man’s a scumbag, literally the architect of the family separation policy that abducted 5 year old Liam Ramos from his community in MN and put him in a concentration camp in TX.

The sad thing is I hear this false equivalency from the left as well. I don't think Obama's immigration policy was particularly good, but it was light years better than the unconstitutional terror campaign Trump is using ICE for now. Claiming they're roughly equivalent is disgusting and untrue.

Yet he picked himself back up and went out to help more people. He really was the best of us.
CNN reporting that a week before Alex Pretti was killed, 5 agents tackled him and he suffered a broken rib. CNN says he stopped his car after he saw ICE agents interacting with a family on foot and began to blow his whistle. Source tells CNN Pretti believed “That day he thought he was going to die”

The reason this is still a contentious position is that there isn't a right answer. Yes, not voting for Harris was a vote for Trump. Yes, voting for Harris was tacit approval of an active genocide. I voted for Harris because it was the -slightly- better position, but it wasn't just flat right.

The paradox of the GOP is that anyone with any morals or decency gets centrifuged out, so the people left are worse. And the cycle keeps repeating
Star Tribune: “Republican Chris Madel made a stunning exit from the Minnesota governor’s race on Jan. 26, saying he cannot support the national GOP’s ‘stated retribution on the citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so.’”
Chris Madel ends GOP bid for governor, says he can’t support federal ‘retribution’ against Minnesota
His exit comes as some other Republicans have started to distance themselves from the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in the state.

Just so we're clear:

Abolishing ICE is the moderate position.

Prosecuting everyone involved and having them rot in prison for the rest of their disgusting, miserable lives is the progressive one.

Putting aside that the actual nazis and those supporting them are the bad guys to focus on, Garland is one of the more dramatic villains of this era of US history. Failing to immediately begin these prosecutions boggles the mind, a failure on a level that defies description.
THEY WERE DERAILED BY DELAYING THEM IN 2024 BECAUSE THEY TOOK YEARS TO CHARGE BECAUSE GARLAND WOULDN’T DO IT BECAUSE HE DIDN’T WANT TO
This is just not true. The Jan 6 case was deliberately derailed by conservatives on the Court. The documents case was deliberately derailed by a conservative district court judge. Whatever you think of Garland, he has nothing to do with those failures. Assign the blame where it belongs.
