sorry maybe this is an unnecessary level of stating the obvious, but sometimes when someone says they don’t think puerto ricans are “american,” it isn’t an opportunity to do a little civics gotcha & tell them about the insular cases. they just mean they think real americans are white.

A white man in Dillard, Oregon was arrested for stopping people on the freeway to demand at gunpoint that they tell him if they were citizens. He shot and missed one + attempted to get another in his truck to bring to police. Before his spree, he called local PD to complain about "foreign" people.

MN Superintendent: Some of our youngest students are very aware of what is happening. They see it with their own eyes as well. I am confident that this will have long-lasting negative impacts on children. I really just find it to be senseless.

Our folks speak to voters as they are at a post grad level. Republicans speak at, maybe, a 6th grade level.

we liberals love to tell ourselves that our ideas are too complicated and nuanced to sloganize. thats self-aggrandizing bullshit that is a built-in excuse for democrats sucking.
Extra points if the plan is simple and easily understood and not some complicated white paper that requires a lot of differing parties to cooperate.
