Sen. Markey: Last weekend, I met with Jeff, who is fighting stage 4 lung cancer. He pays $35,000 a year for an affordable care health care plan. If he can't keep that insurance plan, he will have to pay $300,000 a year. Jeff does not have $300,000. These people are afraid, and they're angry.

Rep. Garcia: It is outrageous that Trump is giving out pardons, and is now saying he didn't know anything about how the pardon happened, to someone that pled guilty to serious financial crimes. Someone who then is dumping considerable amounts of money to the Trump family.

Sen. Schumer: Democrats would like to see an end to this shutdown. We would like to offer a simple proposal that would reopen the government and extend ACA tax credits simultaneously. Then, have the opportunity to negotiate longer term solutions to health care costs. Let's do all three.
