got fully in my feelings about Indiana winning the national championship, the greatest story in college football history.

If Indiana can do it, we can do it
If Indiana can do it, we can do it
It’s the greatest story in college football history. Maybe hope and belief aren't so naive.

This was lovely and heartening in many ways. I can’t help but carry the feeling of how K-State was thisclose to being the long game of what Indiana did, with the rules and limitations of those times. 😔

Surely the Hoosiers mirror the 2014-15 Royals, and that was similar bliss.

Rodger rules.

hey i found somebody obstructing or interfering with a federal government investigation, i heard that's illegal according to that one law all the ICE guys have memorized
Breaking MS NOW:

Aides to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche directed the U.S. Attorney's office and FBI agents in Minnesota to shut down the civil rights investigation into the fatal shooting of Renee Good and instead alter it to probe Good for possible criminal liability.
DOJ sought to probe Renee Good for criminal liability, even after her death: Sources
A judge refused an FBI warrant that proposed investigating dead Minnesota mom for suspected assault on an officer.

I don't think this rule change is that big a deal and it will not lessen my enjoyment of college football in the slightest

they should be legally required to show you this video when you visit Chicago in the summer

can't speak for everybody but I literally never had any conversation like this at any job i've ever had
As someone who works in sports media, how much of a push is it just to say some clicky bullshit?

Cam Newton might be the best college football player I've ever seen and the worst person in all of sports media at talking about college football, perhaps suggesting an inverse correlation between the two
Cam Newton: "Notre Dame hasn't been relevant in years."

Shae Cornette: "They were just in the national championship game one year ago"

honestly nice job by Bills management over the past week to take some of the heat off Josh Allen by making clear that outside of him they are one of the most poorly run franchises in the NFL

They’re going to lose because this means nothing to them and everything to the people they’re terrorizing. They have to lie about what they’re doing just to get a few thousand losers to sign up to do it for signing bonuses, meanwhile an entire city is uprooting their lives to fight back for free
I know people keep saying this but it’s hard to communicate the depth of active resistance here. Like, I’m on random cafes and people are checking in for observation shifts. Signs everywhere. Folks in visibility vests on the corners. It’s wild. Absolutely wild.

man I had never seen Curt Cignetti's signature before. I love this guy so much
You too can order the lunch of the national title winner now at Chipotle (Brown rice, chicken, black beans, side of guac)

this is easily explained by the fact that our masculine, healthy president has been feeling so virile lately that he has begun performing his famously vigorous and powerful handshakes with both hands. his doctors are saying they've never seen anything like it
Trump's *left* hand -- not the one that is usually disfigured -- now has a large bruise and is discolored

I’ve always been able to tell Jim and John Harbaugh apart but I don’t foresee any future in which I’m able to know which one is Klint Kubiak and which one is Klay Kubiak. If they both become head coaches we are toast

more people should watch FOR ALL MANKIND, the space drama that begins with a gripping alternate history 1960s space race and has now caught up to the 2010s, not by casting a new main character by simply making this one actor 10 years older every season
My god, look at Joel Kinnaman's old man makeup for the upcoming fifth season of For All Mankind:

public perception says mainstream media is sensationalist, lusts for scandal, will make anything up to sell papers and get clicks etc.,

and then this particular president does like 10 scandals a day and mainstream media insists on describing his actions in the most uninteresting way possible
Right on cue, here are the push alerts from the 3 major newspapers lmao

do you guys ever think about how Terry Pegula removed his daughter Jessica, probably the only independently successful child of any NFL owner and certainly the only one with experience as an elite athlete, from the Bills ownership succession plan for publicly revealing her mom's cognitive issues
brandon beane, asked a question about keon coleman, has terry pegula TALK OVER HIM to say "nuh uh nuh uh the coaching staff wanted him, not brandon. he won't say so but i will"

KEON COLEMAN IS STILL ON THE TEAM

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON

right up there with Air Bud going from "decent middle school basketball player" to "World Series MVP" in like 3 movies, despite the fact that baseball would clearly be more difficult for a dog to play than basketball

I have never cared about college sports, especially football. But as Rodger writes in this excellent post, when "the bad guys are on a winning streak, and it feels like they’re running up the score," Indiana's miracle run feels meaningful.
