This case in a nutshell

lol - here is the giveaway:

“Schumer persuaded the moderates to hold out until at least the beginning of November, when open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act began.”

Basically he wanted to hold out a little while longer before caving so that Ds could campaign on healthcare.

Beyond cynical.

Oscar Isaac “Not So Open to Working With Disney” on ‘Star Wars’ Return After Kimmel Suspension: “If They Can Not Succumb to Fascism, That Would Be Great”
Isaac, who played Poe Dameron in the 'Star Wars' sequels, hit out at the studio in the days after the Disney-owned ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel's late night series off the air in September.

Here comes the gray haired Senate (white) man splaining from a multi millionaire will never have to worry about paying for healthcare to lay out how Democrats must keep surrendering to Republicans to “move forward together.” 🙄
Many feel betrayal and frustration, and the feelings are hot right now.

I get it. I have my own feelings.

Good that's a movement towards the right direction. Now we need at least 22 more. If you have Democratic Senators who voted NO - call their offices - and ask them to call for Schumer's resignation as the Leader of Senate Dems.
Mark Kelly notably declines to endorse Chuck Schumer as the leader of Senate Dems going forward
November 10, 2025 at 7:58 PM
🚨 Tim Kaine is saying the quiet part out loud - underscoring why anyone shouldn't be satisfied with any of the "no" statements or posts from Dem Senators.

If Dem Senators are truly disgusted with this save they should be calling on #SurrenderSchumer to step aside as the Leader immediately.
November 10, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Not just Schumer - the entire Senate Democratic caucus - own his cowardice and his fecklessness as long as they keep him on as their Leader.

As long as #SurrenderSchumer is “in charge” they are all part of the #cavecaucus.

While the Trump admin sent $40 billion to a keep the regime of a right wing crackpot afloat in Argentina, they are putting on a full court press to starve and deny food stamps to millions in America.
November 10, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Oh @durbin.senate.gov is out on this surrender publicly and he is openly being contemptuous of the base - sounding like the coward he has always been.

A key reason is that the Dem base has been reluctant at times to challenge the Democrats including progressives who often go along with their party leaders as “team players” and never care about exerting accountability.

So this is evergreen.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
November 10, 2025 at 1:56 PM
Some of these Senate Dems have nothing but contempt for the intelligence for their base and their constituents writ large. These are all multi-millionaires who will never experience the hardship of going without healthcare and to them it’s all meaningless kabuki.

Why people get disillusioned. ↘️
Shaheen on Fox & Friends: "I believe there are number of Republicans who are gonna join us in trying to address healthcare costs ... we are gonna be able to continue to right about healthcare because we're gonna have a vote in December."

Nazi actually.
Romantic Comedy pitch: A House D and House R staffer have to carpool after their flight is canceled and they draw up a plan to end the shutdown and fall in love.
November 10, 2025 at 1:43 PM
There should be primary challenge to every Senate Democrat even including so called progressive stalwarts like @markey.senate.gov unless they call for Schumer to resign immediately as the leader of the Senate Democrats.

Otherwise their performative statements or social media posts don’t mean much.
A primary for every Democratic senator who IS up for reelection soon, because this was clearly a caucus decision much as they’d like to pretend otherwise

Indeed. Until progressives in the Senate Democratic caucus directly challenge Schumer’s leadership it’s kind of hard to take their grousing seriously at this point. They are all in on this #SchumerSurrender politics.
Hey just a reminder that it only takes 23 Senate Democrats to remove and replace Chuck Schumer as minority leader. They don't do it because the majority of Senate Democrats approve of the way he does politics.

Yup, and the damage isn’t so much in the story as in the proof of weakness. Trump now knows he has new torture tools to make Dems do what he wants. It’s why at least one of the 7 capitulators oughta be run out of office now, mid session. Get that number down to 6. www.offmessage.net/p/16-thought...

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

I don’t watch U.S. cable news anymore when I am home but I am traveling this week. So I turned on #MorningJoe and I immediately hear Claire McCaskill spew delusional talking points defending this cave from Senate Dems and I just …

Really don’t care among these performance artists tbh. They all own this surrender.
Booker is a NO
As I've always said, I will not support a government funding bill that continues to raise our costs, jeopardizes our health care, and hurts the people of my state.

Blame *all* Democratic incumbents for this surrender. Not just the ones voting for it. The others could have voted to remove Schumer long ago and install a leader capable of formulating a strategy and holding his people together. They were content to stay with a proven loser.
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

Stomping all over the Senate Democratic caucus. I don’t expect the cavers to have any morals but anyone with soul in that entire caucus should be embarrassed and if they had a backbone call out their leadership for failing their constituents and the base.

Embarrassing and disgraceful all around.
Trump: "We'll never agree to give any substantial money or any money to prisoners, illegals. And I think the Democrats understand that. And it looks like we're getting close to the shutdown ending."
