I spoke with Aliya Rahman, the autistic woman whom ICE ripped out of her car, about her experience of being in a viral video, what she experienced in detention and why she thinks we might be in bigger trouble in the future.

"What's my incentive to vote for anything?" Massie said to Axios recently. And asked by Axios on Wednesday if Johnson had his back, Massie replied, "No."

Free trade used to be the liberal position until the end of the Cold War.

In fairness, Sanders has always been far more hawkish on immigration. (Vermont). Old labor lefties were more isolationists

Obviously being a bit facetious. Mostly pushing back against the tankies

People should not be surprised that someone like AOC talks about the international liberal order. After all, a progressive Democrat from New York helped build the postwar liberal order.

Hegseth insulted them to their faces!

Yet another way Trump is hurting our standing in the world, in addition to costing us billions in tourism dollars by shutting out visitors, is by crushing the power of the American passport and making it harder for his own citizens to travel. My latest: www.cntraveler.com/story/the-am...
The American Passport Is Losing Its Power
As the Trump Administration makes it more difficult for people to visit the US, other nations are starting to respond in kind.

We talk a lot about how the tech bros moved right because of Covid. The Epstein files showed elites HATED #MeToo and as @lebassett.bsky.social has written, Trump's election was very much an attempt to exact revenge on #MeToo

👀 AOC uses part of what she told The Munich Security Conference in her latest fundraising email, saying "we have to have a working class centered politics if we are going to succeed, and also if we are going to stave off the scourges of authoritarianism."
February 13, 2026 at 11:14 PM
I think whoever she endorses for president does significantly better with progressives and Hispanics. She becomes more influential as a power player.
February 13, 2026 at 11:07 PM
Actually, Matt Whitaker, Trump's ambassador to NATO was on this very panel! And JD Vance famously spoke at Munich last year and he pissed off a lot of folks.

AOC and Gretchen Whitmer on a panel at the Munich Security Conference. We all this foreshadowing.

The Friday Breakdown: Typically when a politician gives a speech, they are laying out their worldview and larger ideology. It's often a tea leaf they want to run for president. So is AOC teasing a run for president? Or something more important?

AOC wants the Democrats to take her seriously. Why Munich could launch her rebirth

There's actually a big divide between enlistees who LOVE Trump and NCOs and commanding officers, many of whom have advanced degrees, who can't stand him or Hegseth.

Yes. But still, folks who know, know. And judging him against other Confederates, Bragg sucked.
February 13, 2026 at 7:22 PM
Again, this is for military families in Fort Bragg. This is ostensibly a military event and therefore nonpartisan. (Also, Braxton Bragg was a terrible general, even by Confederacy standards).
Trump, speaking to troops in North Carolina, is now attacking ex-governor and Democratic Senate candidate Roy Cooper as a "disaster" who was culpable for a woman getting her "throat slit"

I'm not defending Michigan as a whole. Just saying in terms of primary voting states, it'd be a good weathervane.
February 13, 2026 at 6:49 PM
It's also a state with two Democratic Senators, a Democratic governor and AG. It's also a state with one of the most Democratic cities in Detroit and a large labor presence.

Like when I asked her about tweeting that poll between her and JD Vance and she said "Because JD Vance is a Goober Man."
February 13, 2026 at 6:44 PM
This is exactly what I've seen. When I talk to RFK Jr. supporters, the level of support they have for him is on the same level as MAGA people's support for Trump.
