Democrats would get itchy about a right-to-work state going first

People talk about what should be the first-in-the-nation primary, but honestly, hard to beat Michigan:
-Union state
-Detroit has a large Black population
-Swingy suburbs
-More racially and ethnically diverse than Iowa or New Hampshire

They are also some of the biggest donors to Republican politics.

Right: And also, some of the smartest people I've met in Missouri politics are rural electeds who don't have college degrees.
One of the most annoying tics in American political discussion: equating class/income level with education level. It's how we talk about HVAC repairmen or car dealers who vote for Trump as "working-class" or "Middle Class" rather than upper-middle class or upper-class.

Correct: Many teachers have two degrees and they all need at least one but we tend to think of them as upper-middle class when oftentimes, they make a pittance.

If you want to know why Steve Cohen keeps winning his majority-Black district despite being an old white dude, this is why.
MEMPHIS @repcohen.bsky.social to Bondi: "You tried to investigate Ms. Good's widow, and you tried to investigate Mr. Pretti. They were executed like Kristi Noem executed her dog."

Hey @beckyhammer.bsky.social you need to send her the spreadsheet
February 11, 2026 at 6:00 PM
That's fair. Probably unfair to him because Bondi just shouted at him so it got lost in the mix. But he tried.

LOL! I learned it when Chief Justice Roberts used it during the first Trump impeachment.

Ack. Meant to say Acosta. Brain scrambled.
February 11, 2026 at 5:42 PM
Meant to say Acosta
February 11, 2026 at 5:41 PM
CORRECTED Again, what we still don't know and what victims deserve to know, is what was the nature of the sweetheart deal Acosta gave Epstein and why they gave it to him.
February 11, 2026 at 5:41 PM
Ack! Fixing

Ack. Meant Acosta.

As far as I know, his wife died in 2024 and he decided to stop giving a damn.

Basically. They all just want to get clips so they can go on cable news tonight and raise money.

Again, Massie is cuckoo (and he's proudly cuckoo). But he's probably the most principled dude in the House.
February 11, 2026 at 5:36 PM
Feels like Massie is the only guy on the dais who came with substantive questions about Epstein. They rest was just grandstanding and pettifogging
February 11, 2026 at 5:33 PM
Why am I not surprised that Epstein was obsessed with eugenics? (and he talked about it with Noam Chomsky!) Good dive via @juliametraux.bsky.social.

Epstein couldn't stop emailing people about eugenics
In the latest files, the trafficker gives it a Silicon Valley–pilled name: "genetic altruism."

Republicans could do reasonably well in Puerto Rico if they tried. Reagan supported statehood for Puerto Rico.
