Most political performances don't accomplish anything this concrete btw. I applaud the people who've pulled this off.

Please don't accuse people in knitted hats of only wearing their supposed politics if all you're doing is posting, which is basically just another way of wearing your politics. It's a silly thing to attack people over in any case. Using fashion to signal support for ongoing acts of rebellion is good

for my latest @us.theguardian.com talked to teens leading and joining anti-ICE walkouts from TX to MD to WI.

one NYC teen: "I feel scared [of ICE] every day... But I’m not going to let that stop me, because bravery is just the positive way to say you’re scared, and I’d rather be brave than scared."

My dog ran away a few weeks ago and I got her back with the help of a guy who was walking by and two people who stopped their cars, one of whom had crackers for bait, the other a person who always carries an “emergency leash” for situations like this

I’m not actually watching but I cannot stop my self from saying this:

They should show the Dumbarton Bridge
It's so weird they keep showing the Golden Gate as placesetting scenery for a game in Santa Clara instead of 101.

Basing an argument on refuting what “everyone assumes” is such horseshit. Choosing the most extreme version of that straw man in order to frame what we have actually seen evidence for as somehow insignificant is dirty work.
Last week the far right started peddling a narrative that the outrage over Epstein is a moral panic. Today, like clockwork, a more polite version of that narrative appears in the Atlantic.

The pattern for the red Melt the ICE hats has now raised $650,000 for immigrant aid groups in Minneapolis, according to the local yarn store that designed it. www.instagram.com/p/DUYSbKskVL...
Staff at a Twin Cities yarn store put together a pattern for a red knit “Melt the ICE” hat inspired by the Norwegian resistance.

They thought they would attract 10 people to a weekly knit-along.

They’ve sold 70,000 copies, raising more than $250k for immigrant aid groups.
