Just drove by Amy Coney Barrett Court in Metairie and it is basically an access road for a strip mall which is about what she deserves

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

From a Minnesotan: a hearty HELL NO to this. This man is a professional political consultant in DC raising $$ for a political party. There are endless better places to donate to actually help people here suffering and fighting against this nazi invasion. Here’s a start:

this goes out to every keyboard warrior on here who aren't anywhere near minneapolis who insist "no one is doing anything" when they themselves would likely still be sitting at home if it was their town
"ICE Watch works because it surrounds men seeking approval w ppl loudly expressing their disapproval. The noise has the added benefit of drawing large crowds of bystanders who can quickly outnumber the ICE agents, who then have to decide if they want to escalate a situation or perhaps abandon" it.
For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.

Obergruppenführer Stephen Miller never dreamed that middle-aged white guys in Vikings jackets would be screaming "Nazi pieces of shit" at his goons as they chased them away.
ICE Nazis visit a Mexican restaurant in St. Paul in hope of ordering food and kidnapping some restaurant workers, but get met with resistance from EVERYONE inside, only to get their fascist asses thrown out. 🙌🇺🇸💪👏✊️👇

I would like to know more about the donuts. I would like to subscribe to the donuts.
My non professional tip for adding Alt Text to an image is to pretend you want to show me something on your screen and you yell "Arnica, come see this!"

And I reply "Babe, I'm frying you homemade donuts, can you just DESCRIBE it to me?"

Whatever you would holler to me is the Alt text!

Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

Nope! Not even a single mention of ICE. Not even from reporters.

It’s ALL about warning demonstrators to behave. All of it, again. Like this is all happening in a fucking vacuum.

If it wasn’t so infuriating it would be comical.

The majority of libs who are fretting about the idea of elections being canceled are doing so because that’s actually much, much easier to reconcile with than what is far more likely, which is Democrats are simply going to nominate this guy and lose.
