We're home, they did what I wanted and provided she doesn't get worse, we can see my regular vet on Tuesday. She's had fluids and now I have to try to get her to eat. 😭

Oh, waugh. If anybody can help the house of chaos kitties... 💗
Hey folks! @skyladawn.ca is at the emergency vet clinic with the fourth emergency in four months.

This appointment is probably going to cost ~$500 so I'd like us to try to cover as much of it as possible. This is going to be a thread on how to help.

Me Day 1 of Olympics: Okay so they gotta jump far on skis? Hah, they look like flying squirrels!

Me now: Well, she passed the K-Line, and the gate compensation is gonna get her some points, but I don’t know if it’ll be enough to make up for the lack of a Telemark landing.

Charlotte Higgins' Tracey Emin interview is predictably tremendous. we are so lucky we still have her.

"Most of all... she regrets... too much partying; not enough time devoted to the thing at the centre of her life: art."

Yes. That's what one always regrets.

‘Regrets? Number one: smoking. Number two: taking it up the wrong hole’: Tracey Emin on reputation, radical honesty – and Reform
She scandalised the art world in the 1990s with her unmade bed, partied hard in the 2000s – then a brush with death turned the artist’s life upside down. Now she’s as frank as ever

I've not done much art in the past year for various reasons, so obviously now that I my art room finally accessible again, I am immediately upset and annoyed that my art isn't where it was a year ago EVEN THOUGH no one expects to be able to run the same if they give up running for a year

AND YET

Please check out this thread on how to help @skyladawn.ca, a person I adore and admire so much. She's at the emergency vet with another cat emergency, and this is not going to be inexpensive. Any help financial assistance we can provide will help.

REID: "The President of the United States is a colicky baby. And now Mark Carney and the whole country has to face that constant decision: Do we pick him up and walk him around and make soothing sounds? Or do we let him lay in his crib and cry it out?"

Yes I bought another @skyladawn.ca premade cover but I have a title and a tagline and everything this time.

What's that? Have I written the book for it yet? Do I even have time to write the book for it? Those are, frankly, rude questions and I won't be answering them.

I am glad that Jason Kenney has repeatedly, throughout his career, defended the racism that gets ties to criticisms of the TFW program given his original involvement in it (and, honestly, the racists are why we can never have constructive dialogue to help fix the program)
And the source for those tweets?

Former Alberta premier Jason Kenney.

I found this to be a fantastic post (and explanation) about that red hat fundraiser in the US, as well as some of the anger involved from a few sides. The comments are super interesting, too, as they cover the counter arguments to the main rant.
