It's bitterly cold in Toronto, but that also means that the entire Toronto harbour has frozen, creating the largest expanse of skatable wild ice I've ever experienced.
This is a rather spectacular Toronto experience...

“Collection of Handwritten Letters from Children in Detention Center” sounds like an exhibit in the Holocaust Museum.
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

Okay, I think that the Super Bowl halftime show was good, and the people who were mad about it are mostly just racist assholes.

But I keep seeing takes like "understanding the words doesn't really matter" and that seems totally nuts to me.

The poetry of the lyrics and their meaning does matter.
my opinion on the Bad Bunny halftime show, and non-English music in general, is that i think a need to “be able to understand the lyrics” displays an embarrassing shallowness of the speaker to appreciate the voice as an instrument & to appreciate music as something other than a lyric delivery system

v1.116 is rolling out now!

For all the overthinkers and perfectionists out there, we're launching Drafts.

Imagine your job was to be dumb on purpose like this.
Analysis: Weeks before he set foot on the stage, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance had already become a media event.

But if you were looking for political commentary, the closest that you got was when he said “God bless America” in English.
Analysis | Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was expected to provoke. Did it?
The Bad Bunny Super Bowl show nodded to injustices in Puerto Rico but mostly evoked wholesome family values that meshed with the more sentimental commercials.

These people are treated as though they're perpetrators, but really they're trapped in a fucked up system that is rigged against them.

It's not our fault.

Vous avez été plusieurs à nous demander si la scène de monteurs de lignes du spectacle de la mi-temps de Bad Bunny au Super Bowl était réaliste. On confirme que c’est exactement comme ça que ça se passe.

This is an under-discussed aspect of the American ethnic cleansing project.
The largest federal prison in the nation is Fort Dix, which has a rated capacity of 4,600 people. The largest of these warehouse camps may hold more than twice that number of people.

The federal government hasn't operated a prison camp inside the United States that large since Japanese Internment.

Skating is one of the most joyful and graceful things you can do in the winter. In a season that is so often characterized by trudging along and fighting the environment, if you're a decent skater you step out on the ice and suddenly you're zipping along and gliding.

What is it with Super Bowl music performances and Bluesky just absolutely making shit up for engagement?

It peaked around 5 million viewers by most accounts, I'm not saying that's good or bad but it's an order of magnitude larger than 13,793 viewers.
Yikes: the alternative TPUSA “All-American” Halftime Show had fewer than 14,000 views.
