The updated COVID/histamine link thread because people keep tagging me in to explain it and I keep intending to update the post from 2023 (synecdochic.dreamwidth.org/805203.html) and just not having the capacity because of my own health shit so here is a thread I can pin

By request of a lot of people who were looking for an example of how I do clinical notes for a new appointment with a specialist about extremely complex shit that's involved a lot of referral runaround and/or dildobucket doctors: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/6dx9m...

Also, because reasons I was digging through the clinical notes on my spine surgery journey and this DEEPLY AMUSED ME

I love how despite the blessing of the level 1 neurologist, I still cannot schedule the LP in anything resembling a timely fashion! MyChart says to call. Calling gets me voice mail that tells me to schedule online. Trying to schedule online gets me back to MyChart.

Caz has some more recent updates on the progress for this one but I'm boosting this one because it has a pretty lizard photo
Fresh post, same ask. Currently $1215 / $5900 for rent for 3 neighbor families who are sheltering in place due to ongoing ICE terrorism in the Cities. Even if ICE left rn (and they're NOT) these folks have been out of work for weeks and will NOT catch up without our help.

I remain convinced that age-gating social media is largely an effort to keep kids straight, cis and apolitical.

FYI I have like a ton of people who have messaged me in the last few days but I am still in a massive flare kicked off by the neuro exam on Friday and literally nothing is touching it, I am prioritizing like you would not believe

Like, there's so much to scream about but the "cumulative infections per person: 5.07" is the thing that's making me scream the hardest

My wife drove ~160 miles yesterday to pick up a secondhand floor loom that we are reasonably certain was made before we were born. It's missing one part but the company still exists, still makes the looms, and still makes the replacement parts for them.

I cannot fucking tell you the number of people who have caught a block for QPing me claiming I've "turned off comments on this post" (I have my replies set to following-only) and therefore the contents of the post are false
I want to show you this because several of you have, frankly, used a very "welcome to your first day on Earth" tone with me to tell me to simply limit who replies to my posts.

This is what happens when I limit my replies.

I'm including Bree's reply simply because she sums up the issue perfectly.

Hey a very great maker of plastic for 3d printers has set up a thing where you pay $20 and they ship a spool of filament to members of our printing crew. One spool makes 500 whistles or more. Help out!

lol the pain management/rehab/physiatry doctor who allegedly has experience with EDS also has "opioid safety" listed as a research interest and a paper about how they implemented an "opioid use reduction" program at their acute rehab facility that increased the percentage of patients--

This is why you don't get emailed notifications of DW news posts anymore: our fix to stop this from happening and people getting 7-8 copies broke everything and we just said "...0 copies is better than a dozen", heh
A system failure caused older moderation events to be reprocessed as if they were new. This triggered account-level review labels, even though no recent activity had occurred. We identified this after investigating a user report. 2/5

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”
