I'm not and have never been close to perclexed, but we've drifted in and out of the same circles since Ye Olden Days of Smallville fandom on LJ; can we get her taken care of in advance of her surgery? Her minimum is $350 and her relief goal is only $750!
OK. Called the pharmacy to try to get pricing on needed prescriptions for surgery. They couldn’t give me pricing without the actual prescriptions in their system. So they gave me retail. One of the four, Emend, is $3228.00.
Obviously it won’t be that expensive with insurance. But holy crap.

That is absolutely not the fuck true, that is *not* a policy most hotels have; it is not a policy the Hampton Inn I worked for had; it is an absolutely bonkers (and cruelly discriminatory) policy that means you turn away a massive amount of normal hotel business.
A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles.
When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies.
