Normally I do not purchase, post, or enjoy photos where props have been forced on cats, but I made an exception in this particular case for bluesky reasons. Postcard from my collection, mailed 1931.

Hey parents or childcare workers or anyone else who might know: I'm looking for a set of modular climbing/play toys like this but made of durable hard plastic. Does anyone know of a brand that does this? All the ones I can find are soft and squishy materials. Asking for rescue animals.

I weigh the cats every Friday and Marcel was heavier than Francie for the first time tonight! And he still has a few months of growing to do. My tiny morsel is growing into a large dollop.

This is Jade, the sweetest, most wonderful lady at our local shelter here in Burlington, VT. She is such a love but she's been waiting for a home for months because she's older and diabetic (well controlled with medication). She deserves a loving home of her own. 😢 www.hsccvt.org/Cats#sl_embe...

We just liked the name and it suited her personality. We tend to look for uncommon names and avoid popular ones when we’re naming, like Loki, Bella, Lily, Milo, Oliver, Luna, Max, Willow, Jasper, etc.

The photo is pretty striking because it’s fairly dark but the cats’ face is dramatically illuminated by light streaming in from the right. It is reminiscent of how women’s faces were often lit in noir films of the 1940s and 50s. The cats’ eyes look they might be two different colors but it’s unclear if it’s due to heterochromia or just the stark lighting.

Also if you look closely you can see where it ripped nearly in half. It was mended long ago with tape on the back.
